WD-40 is mostly Kerosene, Old timers would just use kerosene straight, but if you want to spend more for something with some additives WD-40 is the ticket. I like Kerosene, and usually have some kerosene lamp fluid around, that or paraffin wax are the ticket.
@digestion87 Off course. Thats how it should be to deliver good work. The worker has to concentrate on his work and not where he is stepping to prevent him from injuring himself. I am a master craftsman in mechanical engenering from germany and and from my experiance i can tell it is much more productive to work in an clean and good enlightened environment than in the "normal" junk yard you will find all over the world.
@captainbackflash thanks for your comments and advices sir. i am studying machining in master degree so i have been learning these things just for 3 months.
@captainbackflash The question then becomes which is more cost effective. A super clean machine shop would require a significant expense in labor to keep clean. There is a middle ground where extreme cleanliness and drop off in productivity due to a lower standard of cleanliness balance each other out.

what machine is the manual mill with z being the head instead of a knee??
MyanmesKenny19 1 year ago
For max rigidity never extend your quill on manual machines. Always bring your work to the tool.

I wonder what the worlds fastest CNC is... i know it depends on the constraints of the material, but i'm sure that can be overcome.
