So because the Wii isn't powerful this gen Nintendo automatically can't make a competitive console? After 4 previous gens of making competitive innovative consoles? Does that make sense to you?

The other consoles will likely be out at the very least a year after and at the most 2 and both companies have already stated they will not make Uber powerful consoles next gen and the tech to support such power is too expensive.

hell i still play my 8bit -16bit games, HOWEVER For me the wii was very disappointing was it the graphics no it was the bloody wiimote and nunchuck that i hated, Yes i am well a ware that the wii is the "newest" 7th gen console (December 8, 2006) after the 360(December 2, 2005) and then the ps3 (November 11, 2006 in uk) :)

I actually love the Wiimote now. I played some great games on it that proved to me that there is a lot of potential in motion gaming. I only play shooter with the Wiimote now. So I'm looking for a more robust Wiimote experience with Wii U along with the new controller. If you havn't played Skyward Sword yet. It's a must if you still have your Wii.

the console has 8 GB flash memory, and the WiiU discs can hold up to 25 GB of storage.

the control numbs aren't the same as the 3ds circle pad.

battlefield 3 is not coming to the WiiU, and neither is fifa 12.

the online multiplayer has been rumoured to support EAs origin, in the same way the PS3 supports steam.

hey incase u dont know by now, wii u is going to be much more powerful than ps3. with early dev kits, thq have said that darksiders 2 will have better looking textures on wii u. same goes for metro last light, no doubt all multiplats will be superior on wii u. also u were worried developers will be "lazy" and make games for wii u gimmicky. that is a contradiction, i know why u say it, but it wont be the case. it takes more effort to make it gimmicky than do a plain port so they wont be gimmicky.

It would be interesting if the Wii U controllers streaming from the screen to the console would be running off wifi or something. And I hope Nintendo can be selective on some of the crappy games that are advertised for their system, like some crappy Hannah Montana game or something doesn't need to be on the system.

Can hardly wait for next year when Nintendo starts opening up the floodgates of info on the Wii U. I have a strong feeling they want to concentrate on the Wii and 3DS this holiday season, so are keeping everyone tight lipped on the new system. I am very optimistic for it, and I think the recent stumbles with the 3DS will help Nintendo too, as they can learn from them and make the Wii U better because of them.

Hey NintendoFanGirl I actually got info that Nintendo is actually planning a summer lunch for the Wii U next year which wouldn't be unusual for them cause Ihey have done that before with the super Nintendo & it actually sold really well. So I really think Nintendo is aiming more for a spring-summer 2012 release date like they did with the 3DS & I think even if it Lunch around there it will still sell well cause Nintendo has a great selection or release title for it like they did with the 3DS.

It's true that graphics are likely going to get even better for the next generation, but even then I doubt they are going to be a significant upgrade over the ones that we already have.

Call me a fanboy all you want, but Nintendo should be very worried at this point and time. Their status as the handheld juggernaut will be seriously tested once the Veta comes out, and this new system doesn't seem to be bringing anything extremely "new" to the table. Sony and microsoft are hard at work developing the next generation, while nintendo is simply "catching-up".

It will be the first home console to run full 1080p! in my honest opinion, i think that the Wii U could be a very good system. what i think will happen is another story completely, i think that the console is being a little too ambitious, i think right now, the consumers that nintendo is trying to win over feel very comfortable with their controllers, like 360 and ps3 users, the new innovations of motion controls seem to clunky to many hardcore and even some casual gamers, myself included. i see this console going the same direction as the wii.

While I don't think the Wii U is going to be Nintendo's Dreamcast, I do think it's going to fail. As just one example, what happens when little Johnny five-year-old is carrying the controller around the house and drops it. Do you think Parents are going to be dishing out money for new Wii U controllers or even an extra Wii U controller at the cost it will probably be? I very much doubt it.

I think the Wii U, while having good ideas, has already failed.

Wow, I gotta say your analysis of the Wii U has got to be the best I've seen/read/heard so far. You're absolutely right, Nintendo knows what it did right - awesome games like Mario Galaxy and it knows what it did wrong - bad online and crap 3rd party games.
