@MetalGearSolidFTW Money. It's not cheap to take like 7 buses to Atlanta or where ever they decide to go. I went in 07 and it cost all the students like 300 for atlanta but we still had to pay for state too. Another like 200.
@kitteykat14 Choctaw doesn't compete at BOA because they're not really a "Show Band"; Choctaw is more of a "Technique Band". We competed at BOA in 2007, and tied for 11 place (Was a sophomore in the stylemarchers). Hannah will take them again if he thinks they have a chance again (last time before 2007 I think it was 2000). So who knows when they'll go back.
