This is melodic death metal, but melodic DEATH METAL has death metal influences obviously. In Flames is one of my favorite bands, and they maybe more alternative metal now, but they still kick ass. I personally dont want them to go back to the way The Jester Race and the Whoracle albums sounded, because it would all sound the same. I would eventually get bored of it.

Also, Anders has been a metal vocalist for about 20 years, people! He's still doing an amazing job at what he tries to do. He may not be able to fully recreate the sound live, but he's an amazing, fun, energetic, and funny frontman!

Old In Flames is without a doubt the best, but their new stuff isn't bad, especially compared to other bands nowadays.

I've got a theory well it fits with the last four albums. In Flames find a a winning recipe for and album, it if it works they model the next album on that recipe. The change comes in the next album, keeps the material fresh E.g Reroute The Remain was really good (electronic metal) and Soundtrack to Your Escape was also electronic, Come Clarity changed the style and became more MetalCore. Mirror's truth is also MetalCore
