As of 5 years ago gang activity in yakima has gone down...You no longer see gangs in large groups walking around neighborhoods terrorizing everyone...now you see the streets peaceful and kids "Jerk Dancing" and Skateboarding. For starters they have one of the few drive-in theaters in America, that alone makes it instantly better than Yakima, there's also the beautiful terrain that is perfect for camping, fishing and in the winter jet skiing.
It's very very unlikely that I'll ever go to Yak-Town again in my life, but, just out of interest, please tell me exactly how Yakima is better than Wenatchee.

i speak spanish and i listen to ranchera music. the music playing was coming from the car radio tuned into one of the local spanish-speaking stations that i enjoy.
Yakima is alright if your looking for a nice relaxing farm town. You simply have to avoid the rough downtown crowd. Not a whole ton to do for younger kids and teens either.

and moved away in 1990. I worked long hours during the 9 or 11 days of the fair cooked ol'corndogs and worked the midway like ed macman on the old board walk soap box sale's. Pitching the lastest gaggetts of the time. Yakima was great untill the cocaine and herion and shopping centers took over. The 80's really hurt yakima.
