He's a prime example of the Mayor getting in "bed" with a huge corporation who make very large contributions to politicians. Why not just force them to reduce rates.

Wasn't this proposition about a feasibility study??? According to FCG article, Newsom said, ""I haven't met one person who says 'my gosh, boy, you really need to take over the power system in San Francisco'." I'll have to remember those words when I see him next so he can hear them, because he's obviously ducking.

As a resident of California, I can say without reservation, since the 90's, PG&E has NOT been a good steward of the public trust. The cost of power is high and shortages occur. However large contributions to a Mayors campaign can persuade a liberal mayor's position and make him a supporter of BIG BUSINESS.

He makes perfect sense here. Now is not the time to do this for many reasons.
