I got this about 6 months ago, it works fine, no problems except for jamming on semi-auto when you pull the trigger only half-way. To clear it, just switch it to full auto and fire a couple rounds. I got mine at my local Big 5 in Portland and it came with a wind-up high capacity mag, a sling, battery (8.4v), and a sort of jam clearer that can go down the barrel. It was $190-250 range.

Can anyone help me with this? The gears in my thompson keeps jaming or something like its locking up. It would fire at semi or auto for a few seconds and then something goes wrong. I checked inside and it looked like the gears doesn't cycle all the way through. I would reset them and such and tested again. It would work for a little till it happens again. The gun is also new only a few days ago I bought it after wanting to start airsofting. Anyone can give a hand?

@ScrowTom1 I've ran into that problem too before, your semi/auto switch isn't catching to gearbox, you'll have to crack it open and tweak it

If you buy this gun, I would suggest buying the High Cap Magazine for it as well. The Plastic Low Cap that comes with most is sub-par at best. You'll be running through hundreds of not a thousand or more pellets in a good days play. The High Cap Mag has a full metal exterior with plastic insides. The bottom has a wheel that loads more pellets into the firing reservoir, so no more shaking and banging! It holds about 400 rounds each an a spare is optimal.

@crazyNCman I wouldn't jump to it automatically being bad as a first time gun to buy. This is definably something that will last you a while, throughout endless weekends of rough play. It's absolutely perfect for being able to jump into new groups when you just start out, because you're not outgunned by everyone else. It'll let you keep par with other top model guns.

@SNOOZER4569885 Thompson's aren't very practical. He's right on the spot with recommending an M4 or a G36. Those are very basic, customizable, and relatively cheap guns. I recommend the G&G Raider for an M4, and the SRC G36C/MK36C. SRC makes the best G36's for the price (at $165-$185 depending on what website you look at) other than KWA, but the KWA is quite a bit more expensive. Depending on which version of the Raider you're looking at, the price can range from $140-$210.

@nickkuhn15 it is held together by two plastic pegs which fit into two slots on the opposite side of the orange tip, and when you take the pegs out of the slots, it splits into two, however this feature is not common on airsoft guns and this is just a rare exception.
