  • Was the song custom mixed for this commercial?

  • 0:44

  • Wonder if "Evolve" from the Gatorade commercial would work in this too.

  • what is this song name?

  • @lamming548 Rhythm of Life

  • Pleh!

  • Just a question? Can someone help with a critique on how evolution is represented here(negative and positive)...thanks :)

  • Glad my local is only 5 minutes away.

  • Awesome. Billions of years of evolution all cone down to me posting this comment.

  • Кто поёт? Хорошая песня. Кто автор?

  • Brilliant. Now at least we know why we evolved.

  • I wasnt Fish ! :D

  • "evolution is a theory" "well yes but so is gravity so lets hope they float away" thank you Tim Mitchin

  • Laughed hysterically the first time I saw this; I thought it was really inspired. Most people with a modicum of intelligence would take it as it is, A COMMERCIAL! And it doesn't matter whether a person is a Christian or not, and for someone to say Christians probably hated this is just as bad as the pseudo-intellectuals that feel they had to turn this into an argument of evolution against creationism. Get a life and get over yourselves.

  • i bet Christians hated this advert

    lol

  • @olly555

Why? Its humorous, in some ways, it pokes fun at the idea of evolution since its' saying an individual could survive that long to undergo the entire evolutionary process. So its a commercial that those who both agree and disagree with evolution can find funny, as long as they at least understand what the process is.

  • the simpsons one is cool too

  • any one no what the newt is in this advert at the end.

  • @clarebradley100 its a mud skipper

  • Another great Guinness advert there even though I myself do not drink it. The 'Surfer' one is probably my best memory of its series of ads.

  • Great ad, kind of odd it futzed up the order of evolution when going backwards. Bonus points for annoying christian fundamentalists who can't comprehend what a scientific theory is or why evolution is both a theory (a very strongly supported scientific theory) and also a fact.

  • Classic Youtube. A fun, playful advert turns into people debating the theory of evolution.

  • @iLLestBeats02 That's not guinness its the 2011 Heineken advert. The song is 'The Golden Age' by The Asteroids Galaxy Tour

  • looking at the highest rated comment makes me think atheist, evolutionists whatever get very vitriolic. Just because someone has faith in God, He is a religious nut or a special child???. Totally forgetting the fact that the very very core of evolution is based on the theory of the Big Bang. A theory just as absurd as a big guy with a beard clicking his fingers. Well maybe he clicked his fingers and the bang happened you evolutionist nut.

    Oh and great Ad!

  • @lequarrk Yes, big bangs are absurd. They totally never happen.

And there certainly aren't any Christians or Muslims out there telling people they can't have rights and shouldn't do things simply because this displeases their Lord, and there aren't any hypocrites in the bunch. No wars have ever been fought over religions of any kind and others haven't used religion to gain power over others or to operate with impunity. So there's no reason why people should rebel against that in any way.

  • @lequarrk i really grow tired of people with no understanding of science acting like they know ANYTHING about it. "the very very core of evolution is based on the theory of the Big Bang" where the fuck did you get that stupid idea? the theory of evolution explains the diversity of life on the planet. its as stupid to say that it is related to the big bang as to say it is related to the theory of gravity. stop talking about shit you have no understanding of.

  • PHLEH!

  • Best ad ever! One slight correction though, it's not beer, it's stout :)

  • Without a doubt the BEST beer ad I've ever seen!

  • hahahahahaha! :') love the ending

  • used by Itv to promote their dramas where is the full version?

  • hey, i dont believe in it and im Catholic but this a great commercial. dont judge others by beliefs please people. youre no better than those who believe in something you disagree with. so lets just enjoy a pint

  • @irishswag50 your just another fuckin moron

  • love that animal at the end

  • Guiness looks and tastes like mud...but I love this ad and that song is SWEEEEET ;)))

  • THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS EVOLUTION!!!! .... lol, jokes, I'm not a Jehovah's Witness XD

  • this beer advert has inspired me to find "The missing link"

  • i hate guiness but i buy it anyway out of respect for their ads.

  • Caveman 1: I'm bored

Caveman 2: Wonder why we're here (meanwhile a rock is slipping on a cliff)

Caveman 1: Must be a big guy with a beard

Caveman 2: What? That's stupid! (rock finally slips off of cliff and hits caveman 2)

Caveman 1:Oh my piece of stick! (no god at the time) it must be because he said there was no big man with a beard! I must spread the word!

  • @ClinicallyObeseMule I didn't know Santa controlled rock slides. O_o

  • Love this ad, it's in a true Guinness style. To all the easily offended folk , I would suggest don't watch rather than turn this into some kind of religious debate... Guinness don't care :-D

  • I dont like guinness, but their ads are superb. This has to be the best one ever done.

  • i love that things face at the end when it drinks the water lmfao XD

  • 10 people haven`t evolved yet ^.^

  • @MrMontyBurnsDog Surely they would like this?

  • FLEH.

  • Fuck. 3.5 Billions years of evolution. AND IT WAS ALL WORTH IT LADS!

  • Pfee!

  • The ten who have thumbed this down have clearly not evolved yet

  • I am a Christian, BUT I believe that evolution also happened! And that it is still happening today. God created evolution. The first couple of chapters in Genisis are in the form of a translated poem and should not be taken literally!(At least thats what I think) God could have created the other in what would seem to us as 7billion years. So evolution could easily be right. BUT that does not mean there is no God!!! Brilliant song by the way! Easily one of the best adverts ever!

  • @Jonny1557 you're a moron. Also, you don't "believe" in evolution, you accept it, people don't "believe" in evolution in the same way they don't "believe" in gravity. It's there, undeniably it exsists it's just a case fo weather you want to accept the truth or not.

  • @needabloodyname religious is fake

  • @needabloodyname Actually a lot of evolution is theory not fact.. so I guess you choose to believe in evolution or not....

  • @h1a2n3n4a5h6 Care to name what is not fact? A theory in science is better than fact, because a theory is a model for using laws and observed facts to explain WHY they happen. Theory is better than a fact, but evolution is a theory (a model that explains phenomenum) and a fact (long change over long time happens)

  • @Jonny1557 See its people like you that piss me off, religious people have done nothing but dispel evolution. but know that there is overwhelming evidance that proves that evolution happened you switch your story around. You cant do that, the hole point of god is that we are created in his image and that we are perfect. If god created evolution that means we are not perfect and that his design was not great and had to be changed to adapt. There is either religion or evolution not both

  • @GSheppo92 See, now, that's just silly. Yeah, we were created in His image, I grant you that, but we're not 'perfect' in any way shape or form, and religion doesn't claim that. Saying that people can't believe in religion and evolution is just plain narrow-minded and does nothing but push people further into extremism in either view.

  • @Jonny1557 , take that talk somewhere else, don't feel liked getting preached about a beer commercial

  • @myrddinofmaridunum

I know this comment is 4 months old but I did a random google search on Jarethenator and this came up.

You commented 4 months after I posted that and that comment was reffering the the MASSIVE amount of religionbased evolution hate that was going on in the comments when I had posted that.

I wasn't the one bringing it up, I was counting the people who were....

  • it's a very clever advertisement!question it seems to be three guys who's singing ,s.d.junior but who 'are the others?

  • who would have known that we were once a little lizard

  • lololollololololololollolooll---- niceeeeeeeeee

  • please guys does anyone knows who 's singing that song?????????

  • @fairiecat - sammy davis junior xx

  • @themoaningcow it seems like there are three people in that song?

  • @themoaningcow nope its not.

  • @fairiecat it's Rhythm of life by Sammy Davis Jr

  • how the hell are there 10 dislikes!?

  • These are mudskippers (Periophthalmus).

  • NO WAY am I drinking that!

  • I have to write a biology essay on this. Thanks guinness :P

  • guinness aways do the best adverts by far !

  • great way to settle the catholic/protestant issue surrounding ireland.

here's an ad. now chill out have a lager and stfu.

  • @quidnick, It's a stout, but I get your point :^)

  • Yeah, I'd like to get a copy of this song too.

  • Take that Creationists!!!!

  • Great irish advert. Great irish beer

  • is it even possible to find this version of the song??

The only one i can seem to find everywhere is the live version which

sounds nothing like this one.. Please somebody help because i gotta

    have this song !! :)

  • who sings this song??? it's not sammy davis jr

  • @Naignome Yes it is.

  • I can do this animation in paint....just kidding.......cool video

  • FWEEAA

  • ptha!!!!!

  • Amazing advert, love guinness.

Also they've put evolution into its simplest form.

  • Apparently it took them almost a year to complete this ad. Jesus did it in seven days!

  • @Neovator69 boo!!!

  • @Neovator69 if your going to preach your religous view at least get it right jesus didnt do it god did and it only took him 6 days

  • I'm using this music for my 'Rhythms and Cycles' A-level art exam peice! It's awesome!

  • @moneybug939: here is the original (or supposedly) youtube -> v=97GzBd92kWk

    Sammy Davis Jr.

  • One of the best adverts ever made. Guinness for life!

  • #lol

    epic

  • awesome MUCH?

  • *Waits for the religious hatemail to come roooooolling in*

  • who sings this version

  • Hate beer, but love this ad, it wasn't on enough though,

  • so from 3 retarted slimey fishes, we turned into humans,

    that makes perfect sense!!!

    rlly that makes no sense

  • @LilJew96

Who's sole purpose and greatest creation is Guinness no less!

  • @LilJew96 More sense than some immortal being clicking their fingers (or whatever they have) and the earth forming, yes.

  • @LilJew96 Evolution can be proven with other animals that evolve quickly, the only reason it doesn't make sense to you is because it takes so many millions of years for humans to evolve.

  • tip top

  • BEST ADVERT EVER!!!!

  • I Love this song and i love this video! both them and guiness is GReat!!xxxx oh and thank you trandyable for telling me who sings it.xx

  • this was great...now...to get down to business...

*counts the religious nuts who don't beleive in evolution*

  • @Jarethenator Now to count the crackpots who believe gravity exists because of science.

  • @EmperorOfMars Now to count the crackpots that think there is a guy in the sky that made the world in seven days because of some book that was probably a prank by sum guys that thought it would be funny.

  • @dragen199 Who cares, its BEER

  • @Jarethenator *counts person unnecessary bringing politics into bear commercial*

    ONE

  • @EmperorOfMars

I know your comment is 3 months old but I did a random search for Jarethenator and this came up.

You commented 5 months after I wrote my comment so you didn't understand the context of what I wrote.

When that comment was written there were TONS of people hating, disagreeing with, and religiously defacing evolution in the comments.

The people I'm counting are those people.

    --

Now, I understood this comment but I didn't say anything about politics...and this a beer ad....

  • @Jarethenator

    :) you have my support.

  • @Jarethenator Which is a most precise way of their self-denunciation as most illerate, as by no means this ad could be called scientifically correct. It's just a play with the idea of evolution, people taking this gravely are in a serious mental condition.

  • @Jarethenator i agree but evolution isnt something someone can believe in, its a fact

  • @bob67jones theory mate not fact

  • @lukewilliams010 Both actually.

  • @lukewilliams010 Science uses a different definition of theory. It's not just an idea, it's a hypothesis that still fits after being bombarded with evidence.

  • Evolution is a figment of your imagination.

  • Your stupidity is definitely not.

  • @luc9999999

Yeah, because a big great being going *whoosh* and creating everything is more sensible than evolution.

  • clearly! because believing that a big guy with a beard clicked his magical fingers and we came into being exactly the same way we are now

    special child!

  • A very special child indeed!

  • @simoose2810 And believing in mans attempts at measuring things makes you anymore superior?

  • " Pfthrat! "

That last bit is so cute, lol...

  • Why did they say that though? Beer water got in their eyes?

  • Look at the catchphrase: "Good things come to those who wait". Dirty water tastes like dirty water. Guinness tastes like God condensed into a pint glass.

  • lol listening to this is science cos i doing evolution xD

  • EXCELENT

  • BEST AD EVER!!!!

  • I just realised when seeing this advert and another Guinness advert (set in South America?) where a village set up an incredibly elaborate dominoe event with the title 'Evolution - good things come to those who wait' that Guinness is somewhat controversial and obviuosly siding with evolution over creationism.......cool, makes me feel like drinking Guinness! :D

  • That's not controversial here in the UK, creationism not so much...

I assumed it was an ad for the UK only, (maybe Eire, Aus, NZ too?). at least not fro the US.

  • Bravoooooooooo

  • Sammy Davis Jr sings Rhythm Of Life

  • Phlua

  • Whats this song called and whos it by? Could someone tell me please, thank youuuu! xx

  • Rhythm of life by Sammy Davis Jr.

  • Wow

  • best ad ever

  • I love that song!

  • HAHAHAHA just more proof religion is redundant

  • Actually religious idiot is not the right term!!!! Many religious people except the evolution theory as the way in which God created the universe. Science explains HOW things happen Religion explains WHY!!

  • how exactly does religion do that then?

  • You've obviously never read the book of Genesis. ;)

  • a christian

  • @10082419 so why was the the universe created?

  • LOl good advert, however, why are there religious idiots poking their oars in?

despite the mountain of evidence that is availiable,a sublte way of saying we evolved!

    also see bable fish lmao

  • Anyone know what version of the song this is? I know its Rhythm of life, but i cant seem to find THIS version. Anyone know who sings it?

  • good one that

  • What a f*&%ing bone comment from entertherat....well done for sounding like a misinformed monkey...hurrah

  • such good advert!

  • It's illegal because it shows the men taking a drink at the beginning.

In U.S.A., beer commercials are ok as long as none of the participants are actually shown drinking it. (go figure)

  • @entertherat what're they meant to do with it? Dip their sleeve into it? :D

  • A great ad I never got bored of seeing.

  • hah ha i showed this 2 my little friend and she said omg did we come from fish aww she so cute shes only 7

  • We did.

  • best bit is at 0:44 seconds

  • Too bad it's illegal to play this commercial on national tv in the USA x)

  • odd cause that's where I first saw this =P.

  • why??

  • I'm guessing because it deals with evolution.

  • why is it illegal?

  • anyone who got that version of the song??

been looking for ages for this version.

I can only find the live version :(

  • Does anyone remember an ad from the last few year - it may have been Guinness - but it used "The Rhythm of Life" and made an interpretive dance out of the actor-dancers getting a drink at the bar, passing it back etc.?

I really want to find out how did the version of "The Rhythm of Life" that was used on the soundtrack.

  • LOL

a lot of this is from walking with beasts/dinosaurs xD

  • what are the 3 "fishes" at the end called?

  • Bob, Frank and Arthur!

  • @themoaningcow That, and those fish are mudskippers.

  • @themoaningcow please let me know who's singing this song??

  • Mudskippers

  • mud fish or mudcats or somethin... i know what they are i just can't remember!

  • mudskippers they are known as i thinkkk but im not sure.

  • mudskippers

  • @LanceCoolie2 Mudskippers

  • r u serious?

  • Reverse evolution!

This AD is PERFECT! Thanks for uploading it!

  • It's not reverse evolution you asshole! It shows that after waiting millions of years, they can enjoy a guinness. The sense of the Ad is to go backwards, if not it would loose all the "fun", you idiot.

  • Nah its reverse evolution, because evolution is not real !wykyd!!! [rydes giant pterodactyl]
