Many passengers on the flight reported Slater appeared aggitated, angry and was rude to the passengers from the very beginning of the flight and was the one who actually started the issue with the female passenger in question. Sounds to me like he was not in control of himself from the beginning. We all have bad days but that is no excuse for workplace tantrums. Seems to me he could use some medication and therapy. Not an airline in the world will hire him now. He has proven he is a nutcase.

According to FAA regulations and flight safety laws if a passenger assaults a flight attendant they can be arrested for endangering flight crew and passengers. It is obvious from interviews from other passengers he started it by freaking out and cursing her to begin with. According to reports he grabbed the bag from her hands as she was trying to remove it from the overhead and it hit him in the head.
