I will say, though, that this mix is a bit too much Larry heavy, and a bit too much bass heavy. I missed the prominence of Wilton's tenor solo due to over-voice in the mentioned instruments. If you listen to Mr. Felder's solo carefully, you'll be fine anyway!
I will never understand how can people click on "thumb down" for music of this quality or period of time... yes, you can click on a dislike button if this is bad played, or recorded...but if you don't like this style, why come here?...stay home and listen to your usual shit.. bro.
The Crusaders in the 70's had no equals in the jazz/funk genre-they dominated the thing. Musically and creatively they were the total package and they always played at a high level. I miss groups like them now, it will never be the same.
I slep on these guys when I was a kid, but when I grew up, I realized what I had missed. These guys can jam with the best of them. I would be nice to see this whole concert as a whole.
im wondering how the audience can be so damn bored by this awesome stuff.. just take a look at the beginning on the people lol and after samples solo no1 is giving applause.. well whatever, great music!
@oldwarcraftgamer same with the Weather Report from the same year. Maybe they are just too relaxed to care... or maybe they are waiting for the rock/pop acts to start... ;-)
@oldwarcraftgamer This is 1976 man. I am fairly sure a lot of the audience is stoned in a rather hearty way. It aint how you act when you hear music. Just look how many people are there appreciating this stuff. I absolutely love and have always loved this band since first discovering them. Freakin good stuff. Very talented musicians.
Saw these guys at the Ham Odeon '78. outstanding! I wonder if Larry Carleton has lost as much hair as Peter Frampton?

Wonderful footage of FORMATIVE material in my life.
Larry has so, so, so much B.B. in him that I had not noticed until now, 2011.

It's cool, but it sure sounds like a TV theme song from the 70s.

@tonebenderx
I think it's more accurate to say that TV theme songs from the 70's sounded like the Crusaders.
