The voice of the crow on this cartoon sounds a lot like Cicely Tyson. My favorite Lil Jasper cartoon is when he plays the piano and all you can see are his mother's happy feet doing the boogy.

its racist because the ending scene contains the word "Spooks". i dont know about you, but "spook" is one of the worst derogatory terms ive ever heard. someone seems a little sheltered. In my opinion, its worse than "nigger"

@aperfect180 I know this is American and the word "spooks" is very very racist in America, but I'm from England where that word doesn't really mean anything other than a rare name for ghosts. I don't know what a black person might make of this cartoon but I don't find it racist as cartoons are generally used to exaggerate characters in a funny way, no matter what their ethnicity.

I don't see racism in this. What about the cartoons about hillbillies? Overalls with no shirts, barefoot, straw hats and dumb. Modern-day rural folk laugh good-naturedly at this and take no offense. Show Black folk in the same way and it becomes "racism." Everyone else in the world should be able to laugh at themselves a bit, but you can't show silly cartoons of Black people without an uproar (mostly from self-righteous white liberals).

Thanks, I had wanted to see "Jasper and the Scarecrow" again for 45 years. If there is anyway to can find it. Please post the "Jasper" with his gingerbread man.

In dream sequence in this short, Jasper went to heaven where every pie, cake, and sweet thing was his , except the cherry on devils food cake. Naturally, the Scarecrow in Adam & Eve satire made him take it. That was the best one of the series.
