@EastofForever, you might be interested in a comment I posted to @deritpeehs, as your comment echoes a similar lament. Virtually all great renewal movements were founded in the ashes of another renewal movement's former glory. You're not the first to raise the concern about today's UMC, but I'm well aware of exceptions to every criticism...and of renewals of it.
I like to ponder: If John Wesley were alive today, would he stay in it to reform from within? Or start another?
poor john would be proverbially rolling in his grave if he saw how apostate the united methodist church has become. alas, God is no respecter of denominations and will go where his Spirit directs.
i will too. signed, a united methodist pastor who is not going to participate in the death wish of the denomination he was brought up in.
@dataphat - Thank you for your feedback. I have concluded that the sound levels for background effects vary in loudness depending on the advanced audio settings of the computer a viewer is using...something I haven't encountered before in video editing. I can't go back and change this posting, but I will fix this in the high-res MOV version that I provide when ministries ask to use the video in their history/membership classes and training orientations.
@powerman552 Rev. Wesley was the founder of the Methodist church. He was an Anglican minister, who was (as believed by many) mostly responsible for leading the revival that swept through England which continued on through to America in the 1700's, which is believed to have saved England from being defeated by the French. It is also believed by many that he was one of the greatest examples of Holiness that we know of since the apostles. I strongly recommend for you to study his works.
Thank you so much, this has given me more hope. Really well done. Thank you for all the time and effort you put in to this. You must have put alot of energy into this.
One thing I would like to point out is: that it would be easier to hear if the sound effects were a little quieter as there is a lot of sound to take in.
PTL for your persistave in making this. Gofd Bless you.
your music drowns out the words, I had to stop the video midway because I couldn't make out what you were saying, then you would play music on top of the music when you spoke of hymn singing which was just bizarre sounding, please post again without the annoying music playing through out the entire video.

I have always felt that "Strangely Warmed" would be the perfect name for a Methodist chili cook-off.

I am glad John never lived to see the United Methodist Church of today...it would break his heart unbearably.

One of John Wesley`s diciple Thomas Baker from Essex went as a missionary to Fiji and was brutally killed. He gave his life for the Kingdom.
