@castlekeeper2 No it couldn't be one of the eaglets from last year. The intruder was at least 4-5 years old because of the fully white head (could have been older). There are lots of eagles in this area. I know of one other nest in Decorah that has produced eaglets for years. This was possibly a young eagle looking for a mate and a home or just passing through. Mom and dad Decorah's first eaglets should have white heads by now but there's no way to know who this visitor was.
Wow, they certainly defend that nest quickly! But, I confess that I love that intruder just as much as I love our mom and dad. : ) It was cool to see. I am also very glad that there is another eagle, even if not in the proper territory.
@LHeminway The "stranger" was beautiful. Just speculating a young bird. I wish her well. Thanks for watching my videos LHeminway and sharing your joy of the eagles.
@Jomelda54 Yes, I think so because right before she/he turns to leave I can see a line of darker feathers right above the eye. The same line of feathers can be seen when the bird first lands on the nest. Thanks for watching Jomelda.
Thank you for the answer. I was very curious........
