haha was just listening to this and thinking "god video game music can be great sometimes, this is right up there with the music from Morrowind" -and then i see the composer's name...
In this piece, Soule uses a few techniques that were widely used by baroque composers, it is part of the style that he wanted to give to this part of the soundtrack
I think that even if GW2 had horrendous graphcis, Jeremy Soule's music would bring it to life. The fact that the game looks how it does... Something tells me I'm going to spend more time exploring the landscape and listening to the music then doing any actual gameplay.
@SongOfTheCrane Exactly, just look at Morrowind. It's a prime example of what you just said. The graphics are primitive by today's standards and the game can be completed in hours, but it's the music... That music makes you come back over and over to explore this strange new setting. You knew nothing hardly at what had happened, and quite frankly had few visual cues, but the sounds all introduced you to a fantastic landscape.
Jeremy Soule, you are the first to win The Game. Grats.
Holy shit, this is the song I heard on the gamescom stream last year. That song always stayed with me and now I finally know what it is. Fuck, I'm so happy right now.
Soule's guild wars music is much like his Oblivion stuff.. bravo indeed!

I just love the music for this game, truly epic. I only hope the game is as good or better than the sound tracks.

Just beautiful. It captures the spirit of the amazing vistas. Remind me of some of the pre searing ascalon music from the first game.
