Lol, I love how he NEVER used the useless ass signature "hawk dive." It seems like rarely you see a player use that and win. I'm sure it has it's occasional uses though.
For you that were wondering why Komoda didn't do Blanka's super to finish Hawk off, it wasn't because it's "cheap". There's no such thing as "cheapness" in pro gaming, whining is for losers. He didn't do Blanka's super simply because it's easily escapable. Hawk could even do a Rising Hawk (Tomawawk Buster) and beat it cleanly on reaction.
omfg that was a good ass comeback i luv seeing pro t hawk users man i mained t hawk since ssf2 and i used him from ssf2 to sf alpha series up to ssf4 luv t.hawk great shit Mayakon
@Makingnewnamesisdumb it chips and its temporarily airborne. it is GREAT vs any grappling character like gief or even honda. but i agree it is horrible
I got this game on VC and I need help! How do you do T Hawk's 360 move? I can do 360 moves just fine on a Playstation's D-Pad in Street Fighter Alpha 2, but I can't do 360 moves on a gamecube controller. Please help. Thanks.
You do a 360 while jumping to your opponenet, and punch, but hold the punch button so that he'll be on the defence, then if you did the motion right, you let go of punch and he'll do it
Two ways of doing 360s on the ground (using the number pad on your keyboard as a guide to directions) on 1P side of screen (reverse directions if 2P side):
Standing/walking 360: Very quickly rotate 6248 + punch.
Safe tick 360: Put your opponent in block stun (usually from a cr.lp). When the cr.lp hits, do not release lp button. Then quickly rotate 148621 & release lp button. If timed right, you 360 your opponent. If mistimed, Hawk will not do anything & you're safe.
I don't see how that's possible since the jump is instant. They must at least have the stick tilted down/forward, but not enough to crouch, to get a small headstart on the 360 motion.
Man okay I'm starting to understand. You just gotta be damn quick about it. How many frames does Hawk have? Is his jump relatively slower compared to the rest of the characters?
I think T.Hawk have 3 frames of startup before he goes airborne but im not 100% sure so dont quote me on it. Thats pretty quick compared to the rest of the cast if i remember corretly. The norm is something around 5. Another note about T.Hawk: even if you execute a 720 motion within the allowed timeframe so that you shouldnt jump, you still have a 50% chance to jump anyway.
Hawk has 3 jump frames, meaning you must start the motion in forward or back and end it in up (270), and press punch in 3/60's of a second once you hit up.
You're kidding, right? That's one of the most beautiful performances you'll ever see from someone facing off against a monster like Komoda. It wasn't Mayakon's abuse of 360s which killed Komoda, it was sheer patience, skill and mindgames.
I mean, the timing on that last throw was fucking clutch! Right in between Komoda's defensive low kicks. It was totally a prediction by Mayakon that proved accurate.
haha, drfrijoles, you should give this t.hawk master a free lesson. but keep your wits about you, he doesn't use button up and ends his 360 motion holding up! quite the masterful strategy! it has even defeated the best sagat players in the world!
"he doesn't use button up and ends his 360 motion holding up" What does this mean? What is button up, and why is ending the motion holding up so significant?
i don't quite remember exactly what was being discussed, but i assume i was talking about hawk's safe jump in jab to 360 using button up. if you miss, hawk will just be blocking since he has no whiff animation in vanilla st. i recall some scrub talking about how he plays that way and supposedly beats "top" players. something like that.
^^ doh, i meant to say that he DOESN'T play that way, but instead ends his 360 motion with up and pianos his inputs which is very unsafe (and stupid).
Ohhhh, JUMP IN, I was confused because the motion you described, d/b go around back to d/b, would cause me to jump before I can execute the throw sequence if I were standing, but I yeah, I see now how that works safely with a jump in. But pianoing with T.Hawk is still good for reversals though right? Lastly you said vanilla st. I know st means super turbo but what are you talking about with vanilla?
pianoing can be good for getting a reversal, but jumping in it's best to button up since it eliminates the risk of poking out a random normal if your timing is off.
vanilla st just means plain super turbo, as opposed to hd remix. in vanilla st hawk has no whiff animation, but in hdremix he does, which kind of eliminates his button up typhoon technique. i hope i'm making sense, sometimes i have a hard time typing what i'm thinking.

I don't mean to brag but I'm a Master T.Hawk player myself. I also like to use E.Honda,Zangief and Dhalsim. As for T.Hawks Storm Hammer its simple if you know the shortcut its basically like this, simply roll your thumb from f,df,d,db,b, then just press up and any punch button at the same time I can do the move about 99% of the time. But struggle when being pressured with combos.
You're probably the worst T.Hawk master. T.Hawk's Typhoon is safe, but the way you execute it is unsafe - if the opponent reversals you're gonna get smacked. If you are Player One the motion should be d/b, b, u/b, u, u/f, f, d/f, d, d/b and release punch button(s) of choice.
Well the way you execute it is even worse. As for me being the worst T.Hawk Player..I kinda doubt it when I'm noted to beat even the best Sagat Players in the world with him...I think when I get the right equipment I will add my own T.Hawk Tutorial. Alot of people consider him a Token waster. But I think its just the opposite. I only execute the Typhoon when I have a opponent knocked down are I'm corner pressuring them. I must ask you how can you say I'm the worst?
You said you were a master, therefore I can only conclude that you're the worst master, since Hawk should never risk getting hit by a reversal attack. Always end his Typhoon input with d/b (If you're on Player One side) and releasing punch button(s), unless you walk-up like Mayakon. Further you shouldn't only use Typhoon as an offensive tool, it's an insanely good reversal. The way you execute the Typhoon by ending w/ UP as the final direction, you will jump if the opponent isn't throwable.
Anyone who calls himself a master is an idiot, period. True masters are humble, because they are intelligent enough to know that they will always have something to learn. You're just another Youtube clown.
dude, he's right. you want to end at d/b so you're blocking high and low, and you want to do a button-up typhoon (i.e. release the button to activate the move) instead of button-down (pressing the button to activate). since thawk doesn't have a whiff animation, if you mess up and release the button at the wrong time, nothing happens. if you PRESS the button to activate and mess up, a punch will come out and you might get hit.
also, win a tournament or two, then talk shit. otherwise stfu
@ProfessorJones7 Your comment doesn't really make sense. I'm sure there are more people who claim to be masters than who are masters, and you don't have to be a genius to see that making claims like that on a YouTube comment page is pretty worthless. Nonetheless, your statement is clearly false - it only takes a single master to claim that they are one for you to be wrong.
That's was a fucking excellent comeback. T-Hawk looked dead and buried. The last spin was just simply too sweet and must have left the Blanka player feeling like a proper twat.
He wasn't really using the Tick strategy as much as he was just using walk-in throws and blocking attacks into the FC throw. Like the last round he doesn't use block-stun into FC once. Excellent T.Hawk play.

Quick fingers. You have to complete the 360 motion before the jump starts, which is very difficult for T.Hawk.
