Does an economy in crisis affect in anyway the productivity or ingenuity of a nation? No it does not. It affects how much they can produce or accomplish with thier skills. You don't want to admit it but the "Fundamentals of the economy are strong" comment led to McCain's downfall because they proved he was out of touch. And he did not mean the American worker in anyway he tried to spin it.

The same quote 'Fundamentals of our economy are strong", he proclaimed the entire year, ..In Janurary during the republican primary debate he claimed that we have made great economic progress during the last 8 years..
