All hail the great trent reznor who has been the greatest negative and positive influence in our lives, it all had a purpose at a point regardless of the shades of grey
hahaha what a joke! I heard that he extorted money AND used it for a relative of Mariqueen's. I don't know if it is true but terrible if someone made it up.
I give props to TR in addressing this issue, however people need to understand that with Obamacare, things are going to get a lot worse. More and more doctors are starting to refuse accepting healthcare and even employers are considering dropping healthcare as a benefit. I also have friends who work for doctors and there has been an increase in fraud since Obama's health care plan was passed through.
So, Reznor is honored for starting a twitter army? Even if there was free health care how many other people would've raced for a free heart transplant? There'd still be a waiting list and sadly, people will still die. What makes this Eric guy more special than thousands of others?
So the government thanked Trent for raising money for a guy who couldnt get government support? What the hell? I guess its still cheaper to send a thankyou letter rather than actual help.
Damn I thought Reznor was Hell bound for sure, after Manson, and Heresey, but we all know his lips may promise but his heart his a whore. I guess if there is a hell I won't see him there.
Totally agree with you! More people should look at what Trent did and follow his steps. People should not have to pay for being cured that defeats the whole point of medical care. If you have no money go die in a corner ? That is not fucking fair!
This is the type of humanitarianism the US needs to exemplify. Trent is an amazing icon for doing this, and a great example to other celebrities. But there are also many other celebrities that DO give but don't necessarily get this type of exposure. What Trent did, in setting up his method of helping Eric, brings social consciousness to a whole new platform.
I did my meet & greet at the Mansfield show, went to Wantagh as well. Would've been great to see this go down in person, but glad to see it here. Thanks so much for posting! So cute to see Trent speechless...I sense a bit of blushing as well. Amazing to see him get some of the recognition he so rightfully deserves for this cause.
oh, thats so nice to know that he was recognized for his actions to help eric. hopefully this will change the laws so other people like eric can get the medical treatments they need.
This is so ironic, they man who wrote year zero and with teeth is being honored by the government for doing a better job than they have, way to go trent and hopefully the donations don't just stop with nin
so the government is thanking trent for doing their job basically .on another note of all the whiney fucking bullshitting movie stars who act like they give a shit heres a clear case of someone with a truckload of money giving a real shit
Wow. One more reason to like NIN. Trent had better be careful, though... can America survive a rash of selflessless like this? Surely senators will start hanging themselves. (Hey....)
Definetly a nice thing that he and his band did, they didn't have to care but they did. Lets just hope Eric gets his transplant in time, seems like the whole f*cked up medical system takes way to much time to help people in need sometimes!
Wow, this is fantastic, what a wonderful moment and some much deserved recognition. We were at this same show and did the meet and greet as well, it was a terrific experience and there was such a feeling of community. Here's hoping that everyone's thoughts go out to Eric and his family.
Eric is such a lucky guy to have so much support. The government failed him, but the general public saved his life. Wish others in need of transplants could be so lucky.
I am proud of Reznor and the community for giving a shit about the world outside their own bubbles. I just wish people could be this proactive without a famous person who they idolise having to inspire them. I wish this kind of caring within a community -- online or local -- was a daily occurrence.
Even if it was sarcasm it's pretty much true. Every bleedy vagina doesn't need to get up in arms for one comment. I mean, we pretty much ARE following TR if we're coming to youtube to watch things OTHER than just his music.
I'd rather follow this musician than many others... Like Fred Durst.
