  • 6 noobs who havent high hopes

  • One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard!

  • This sure describes how I have high hopes that someday Roger, Gilmour and the rest of the band get back together to save the world from nowadays music.

  • I do not know how they did it! they make everything so beautiful...

  • roger waters or david gilmour?

  • @galk108 Gilmour

  • them damn magnets how do they work XD

  • I absolutely love this song.

  • After Waters left the band lost it.

Not that I hate Gilmour, he's actually my favourite.

Just didn't have the same lyric quality as Waters

  • Dla mnie utwór wszechczasów.Rzecz kompletna, konstrukcja utworu i jego klimat,zresztą...ciężko to opisać.Rzecz która wybrzmi na moim pogrzebie.

  • If Salvador Dali was a clip director, he would have create something like this

  • how is this possible that this video has 5 thumbs down...?

  • its a tie between this and cluster one

    just on this album

  • Reminds me of halcyon days in Cambridge & Hertfordshire way back in the late 60's (when I was in my early teens). First time I saw PF was in '67 at Rhodes Centre in Bishop's Stortford with Syd Barrett. They started the set with Astronomy Domine. We were transported to another world...

  • @Davidftz you are soooo lucky, maaaan!

  • one of the best, although their song time is better

  • Love Song

    SKULLBOY FOREVER

  • which year they made this video ???

  • 1994 i think, because the song was made in 1994

  • Is it spoce to be syd at the beginning

  • The song and video are brilliant. I was born in Cambridge but haven't lived there for over 30 years. Everytime I hear this it takes me right back to my childhood.

  • Haunting...love it!

  • nah its both :)

  • great & haunting song

    reminding me past

  • ...splendida....

  • the surrealism of this video is just amazing

  • the surrealism remember me pictures from Adwentures of Sherlock Holmes

  • really?

    which series?

  • "The Adventure of the Priory School", and what you think ?

  • I can't say anything...

  • love it love it love it!!!

  • wow I got goosebumps

  • That is an example of a symbiotic relation between the genius in the music and the finest taste of the video footage.I mean this video is huge...I definitely adore it.

  • goosebumbs-alert

  • It Probably should nt be but this is my fav pink floyd song

  • agreed! in fact, the whole album is great(for me, anyway). But I fell like I'm betraying someone here....

  • @Sasamoinen Me too brotha,most fav...

  • @Sasamoinen lol it's your choice. But I think it is a pretty good song as well.

  • the soloat the end of this song makes me want to cry.

pink floyd was such a great group.

rule the world gilmour, pink floyd.

  • The solo makes me cry as well

  • Beautiful,No words to describe it.

  • Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young

In a world of magnets and miracles

Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary

The ringing of the division bell had begun

Along the Long Road and on down the Causeway

Do they still meet there by the Cut

There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps

Running before times took our dreams away

Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground

To a life consumed by slow decay

  • The grass was greener

    The light was brighter

    When friends surrounded

    The nights of wonder

Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us

To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side

Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again

Dragged by the force of some sleeping tide

At a higher altitude with flag unfurled

We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world

  • Encumbered forever by desire and ambition There's a hunger still unsatisfied Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon Though down this road we've been so many times The grass was greener The light was brighter The taste was sweeter The nights of wonder With friends surrounded The dawn mist glowing The water flowing The endless river Forever and ever
  • I love the statue of Syd Barret

  • the song is just amazing

    the band epic

& the video....no word to describe it!!!!

  • Forever And Ever

  • Pink Floyd is the best prove that the rock is inmortal

  • David Gilmour is so much more than a rock star. He is a true poet.

  • la primera vez q vi este vieo tenia 4años...y sigo alucinando con esta banda y esta cancion..PF RulZ

  • Esta música é fantástica!!! Realmante uma viagem!!! Pink Floyd eternamente!!!!

  • english rock groups have alway's excelled in this progressive story telling style of music . from the early day's of yes to genesis . heavy rock like led zeppelin . and of course pink floyd . as perfectly excemplified in this amazing piece of work high hopes !

  • the details, the perfection, the words, the beauty...every single bit of sound.... is just out of this world

  • Great song...

  • Dalí and Magritte..!

  • Dalí Moves!

  • pink floyd <3

  • Pink Floyd is the most eccentric and experimental multi-platinum band of the album rock era, creating exceptional cinematic sound sculptures Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and the bands popular apex and conceptual death knell, The Wall.

  • Did you just copy that from wikipedia to sound cool or something?

  • really doubtful pink floyd will ever be matched.

  • I think Tool has come close, but in a very different style and of course from a very different era.

  • greatest band ever.

  • the song is soooo great...the video too....i love to hear this song , when im in my car...

  • lovely song

  • SUPER***

  • im speechless!

    truly amazing!

  • MAGNIFIQUE !

  • Love this song!!!!

  • sooo much symbolism in this video. First dont forget the separation of the lyric part (him standing at the car "gazing at the past", and the solo where he frees the balls (ideas, dreams, visions) that he kept locked "in his car" (himself) for oh so long. Once he does, the ideas that children used to toy with and exchanged them, spread into the world, and he himself becomes free like the wind. The song is about not to waste your life and hang on the child in you. A MASTERPIECE of music

  • a masterpiece well said will live on forever like classical music timeless

  • Very nice interpretation of the song, very accurate, if you ever read "Another Brick In the Wall" it talks about how the song is a retelling of Gillmour's childhood and the way in which innocence is lost when you reach adulthood.

I do truly agree with you ... This song is a MASTERPIECE. The band itself is questionably one of the most greatest and talented bands of all time.

  • I think it also is in fact a song in the similar vein to "shine on you crazy diamond" albeit in a much more melancholy tone . It strikes me that the final frames with a bust of Syd indicate this has more than a little to do with him as well .

  • Couldnt be more clear... As Scubaguy661 points out, this song for those over 35 or 40. Younger ones can also understand or estimate at least what its telling about but this is a matter of empathy.

  • oh man, ive been looking for this song for like 2 years... finally.

  • I love pink floyd! This is one of my favourite songs!

  • fantastica ;)

  • Obviously some didn't get it... I meant that this song is also about becoming middle-aged and looking back at days of youth gone by and at lost hopes and dreams. Fourty year old people can particularly relate to it.

No wonder you don't give me credit for intelligence as it seems you don't even know what the word means. Keep on pouring bad language, it's all you seem to be good at...

  • This song should accompany every 40 year old birthday package...

  • So, does that mean your mother gets it twice? She's still pretty snug for her age, by the way. I won't give you credit for intelligence, bui I'll give you credit for the bitch that pinched you out. I'll think higher of you when you move out of her basement.

  • For me this is how Eternity sounds... I cry every time I hear this song.

  • Why donť you get it to the phone as .mp3 and set that as a ringtone?

  • It would be kind of weird if I started crying every time my cell rings ;) plus I would then relate this song to my job, which would make it the sound of utter Misery... and I wouldn't want that to happen ;)

  • easily the greatest band of all time!!!

    the water flowing

    the endless river

  • me encanta esta cancion!! es una de las mejores

  • Love the tribute to Syd at the end. When they are carrying Syd Barret's bust.

  • easy to relate to their songs....

  • Awesome song!

  • PINK FLOYD ARE MY FAVOURITE BAND!!! R.I.P richard wright...

  • this is my number one song, it moves me every time

  • The grass was greener

    The light was brighter

    With friends surrounded

    The nights of wonder

  • Dla mnie utwór wrzechczasów...absolutnie natchniony.

  • i love pink floyd. greatest band ever.

  • The greatest song ever.

  • these guys have reallllllly good songs

  • Wonderful!

  • Forever and ever...!!!

  • excelent song,melody,guitar

    Perfect Intelligent Notable Knock

Flawless Live Outstanding = Yes Dynamit

  • This is one of 5-6 masterpieces that makes me think of how beautiful, creative a man can be. Enjoying it everytime I can and yet "there's a hunger still unsatisfied" :)

  • You stole my words! :)

    the water flowing

    the endless river

forever and ever ... Pink Floyd.

  • Magnifique..

  • I cant really work out what this song is about and what the music video is trying to explain. Absolute awesome song, pink floyd will never be forgotten, RIP Richard

  • It's an old man's song about looking back & realizing that life never truly fulfills our expectations, that it always lags behind our "high hopes".

It's in a sense the ultimate punchline: The perfect guitar player of a perfect rock band makes a perfect song & a perfect video about the imperfection of everything...

  • ...and it is also a summary of their personal history, as a band (from the imaginary times with Syd Barrett, and after his "loss", thru the succesful Roger Waters era, right to the final David Gilmour period (after the Final Cut))...

  • ogni commento e' superfluo..

  • The video is epic

  • Beautiful song.

  • I supose that in a hi you can interpet any way you like ,but bottom line is that you have to say .."Whitch ones PINK.....

  • nice call cigar boy :)

  • The imagery is simply stunning: You could capture almost every second of the video & it would perfectly fit any exhibition. Truly a piece of art that makes you understand why the guy behind the camera ist called "director of photography".

Similarily: perfect music, perfect lyrics. Though I don't like the fact, I somehow understand that Pink Floyd never recorded another song after this one...

  • The best music video for the greatest song written by the best band in the world.

  • "LEGENDS ALL THE WAY'

    Long live Pink Floyd

  • Amazing contrast with art, elements and timing of day.

  • Pure art!... Music does not get much better than this!

  • god

  • how amazing...

  • metaphically awesome

  • Fucking still A+ awesome tune

  • pure art!!

  • nice!

  • bellissima

  • what a great song by the masters and it sums up the history of the band perfectly I think. Madhobbit they should have turned it up not down lol

  • I used to play this all the time in the local pub, but they then started turning it down LOL. It is abit depressing i suppose LOL.

  • man i love this song. It's my absolute favourite Pink Floyd epic. The lyrics, the music, everything. Man I love David Gilmour's voice and guitars.
