  • do you buy black tiles or can you paint them?

  • @dodgergal31 I bought them bare and I paint them with acrylic paint.

  • I am interested in doing this to the back of a cabochon. Could the bail be glued to the side with glaze or will that not hold?

  • @francescadecaire The bail will not hold with glaze, you need something strong like e-6000

  • This is a quick and thorough tutorial! Thank you! And I love your voice.

  • how do you resize on photo shop? please and thank you

  • @7777roxanne I use photoshop, I open a new project with the exact size of the pendant, then I drag and drop the scanned picture (I use the higher resolution so the image is huge) and I re size and crop. I open another new project with the size of a regular letter page and I drop the other new project in ti several times. I end up with a page with several images in it ready to be printed.

  • Wow! I do this and I love! Love the pics you used. I see that you use etsy...do you know if they are doing the christmas in july on the 31st? :) thank u

  • ok. i have read someo of the comments. so this question may have been answered already. anyhow, how do you resize the pictures, is there a template that i can download (for free) you say you're cheap. i don't think anyone is as cheap as I am. one other question, do you sell your pendants, not trying to be nosy, but i plan on making some and using them for a fund raiser, i'm not sure how to price them though. it is very hard to put a price on your own work. thank you in advance.

  • @areindoubleu I don't have any template for it. I am good a photoshop so I create my own pages. If you go to etsy you will find many scrabble tile pendants for sale. I try to price them close to those.

  • When you say reduce the image do you mean resize the image?

  • @datashine38 yes

  • I also have a problem with the diamond glaze "sinking" in the middle. Do you have any suggestions on how to not make that happen?

  • @Hinote6713 do it in layers. If you put too much glaze at once it may sink in the middle.

  • I haven't tried the matte mod podge. Does it work any differently, or better than the glossy?

  • how do you resize on photoshop?

  • Hello, i have a question. I have some pics i would like to use, but im having trouble resizing then to 1in by 1in. Could you help me on this? I have Photoshop.

    Thanks Britt

  • Could you spell the name of the person's Magic Gloss? I could not make it out on the vdeo. Thank you!

  • This is a great tutorial. I love the pendant and I also enjoy hearing your accent. lol :)

  • @Sonshine1296 Thank you! :D

  • Hi, I was just wondering where you get your images from...I love the cartoonized photo of Frieda Kahlo....It's awesome!

  • @tlishis These images are from my paintings. I am so happy you like them! I take pictures of my paintings, then I resize them on photoshop and send them to print.

  • what paper do you use to print the pictures for the pendants?

  • @iBlahhGrr I like using regular paper because it is thin and easier to seal. I used card stock in some but I didn't like the result.

  • Where do you get the larger tiles?

    Loved the video

  • @Windwalker19551 I buy them on Etsy dot com. Search in the supplies section and then type "wood tiles rectangle"

  • why do you let the letter show on the back? Wouldn't it be nicer if you cover the letter with the paper and the back would be plain?

  • @xINVISIGOTHx I like the letter on it. It shows that is a recycled piece and I like the was it looks. You can also buy blank ones, just the wooden square if you don't like the letter.

  • my daughter (4 years old) loved watching your video and said you speak so pretty. I am glad to see you work like I do taking the best of what you find and make it work for you! Thumbs up!

  • @LittleDanityKaneFans Awww thank you. I am always thinking about how bad my accent sounds so your comment gave me more confidence. <3

  • i saw these at a craft fair at chistmas and went mad over them, unfortunatly they were £13 and i only had a tenner left, but now i can make my own yay!ha screw you craft fair lady!

  • has anyone ever used modgepodge as the finishing coat? does it work well? thanks

  • @cjp1999vrs I did on some but it doesn't look that nice and it is not waterproof. If the rain catches you with the pendant it may get ruined.

  • What are the silver hooks that you put on called? And, where can you find them? Like at any craft store?

    -Thanks (:

  • @artisticglitter I just bought some on Etsy from pinkywarehouse, you get 20 for $0.30

  • @artisticglitter they are called "Aanraku bails" I bought them on etsy.com (look on supplies) the small size.

  • Hello. Great video. Where do you buy the bails from? I went to Michael's Craft Store and they don't seem to have Diamond Glaze or the type of bail needed? Thanks

  • @lilfunny2002 Sometimes Michaels does have them. I bought some at Hobby Lobby last year right before Christmas.

  • Hi hi :)

I´m sorrry. I don´t now english. Do you speak spanish?

I have a question. The resin is toxic?

    Cheers! :)

  • @copassogirl Resina puede ser toxica pero la que uso yo no es toxica.

  • Thank you so much for the great tutorial. You did a wonderful job!

  • @hijole2007 Thanks!

  • If you want to colour the sides, where in the steps should it be done and what do you use ?

  • @crazycatlady1313 I paint them with acrylic paint before I work on them. It works great.

  • Thank you Adriana you are very talented!!! Thanks for sharing how to make these wonderful pendants.

  • GREAT VIDEO

  • I have updated the description with a link to Lisa Pavelka tips and tricks website with most of the answers to the questions I am getting. I have no problems using this product but some people do. I use regular paper, the copy paper I buy from the office supply and I never had a problem. I hope this helps some of this issues. Thanks for watching :)

  • Very nice!!! Your good!!!

  • you don't need the mod podge at all. I make and sell these pendants. All you need to do is use a thin spread of the diamond glaze ( or any of the many others that you could use)and that works as the adhesive for your image. once you put the image on the block , use a bone folder or craft stick to gently squeeze any air bubbles out from under the image. give it about 5 minutes to dry and then you can apply your diamond glaze to the top.

  • @silvermckenzie Thank you so much for your instructions :) I use diamond glaze for a different kind of pendants I make (not very often). I know the resin is waterproof but I know diamond glaze is not. Did you get any of your pendants wet? are they resistant to rain? Thanks

  • @adrianayaccofani They are not water resistant but I have worn them in the rain and haven't had a problem yet. Of course that could just be luck :) I only commented because there were concerns about using Mod Podge with the Magic Gloss. BTW I love the image on your large tile. You make cute pendants.

  • Hi! great tutorial!

I do have one question. I bought the Lisa Pavelka Magic Glos, and it says on the back to not use it with water based sealants such as modge podge.

I tried it anyway (because you said you use it) and it did work okay except that I do notice it yellows the white areas a bit, and it seems to pull away from the edges.

I've also yet to be able to make one that is 100% bubble free, or doesn't have a random dust particle (even though i cover them) any tips? thanks so much!

  • @jezebel1217 Thank you! I don't have any of those problems so it is hard to give a solution for them. I am sorry. My friend couldn't use Lisa Pavelka either but she follow the instructions (search this tittle on youtube) "Resin Jewelry Tutorial with John W. Golden" and she said it is better for her. I hope it helps.

  • Great video! I was so excited to find that someone was willing to share how to do this. Thank you. I am off to begin.

  • great tutorial! thank you! i have some questions though... do you print your images at those copy places like kinkos?? if so, what type of paper do you ask for?

  • i used the lisa pavelka glaze and oil from it got under the paper and made oil marks, even though i sealed it with mod podge, i used a thin computer like paper. any suggestions?

  • i like your tutorial!Ü where did you buy the large wood tile? Thanks!Ü

  • @23weiss Thank you. I got them on Etsy (followed by the dot com) the store is called Lessmagnets and the product is called "unfinished wooden rectangles"

  • "I'm cheap, I use a piece of wood." lol Love it! We were separated at birth. ;) Great job! You answered all my questions. :)

  • great video.........thank you so much for sharing your tutorial with us.

    Love, Violette

p.s. your images are so sweet!

  • excellent info, thanks so much :))

  • Great tutorial!

  • @maryliapatel THank you!

  • what did you use to make the tile black on the back?

  • @jodekry Acrylic paint. I painted the whole tile black.

  • I love your paintings. What a cute style. :)

  • I love this idea. Thank you so much for such a wonderful tutorial. All my questions were answered.

  • Hi,

I like your video. I would like to know the size of the bail you used for that size tile. I see they come in S,M,L. Also what is the size of the scrabble tile. And how do you get the other tile black on the back and sides.

    Thank You

    MyPreciousThree

  • @MyPreciousThree the bail is a small size. I painted the tile black with acrylic paint. The tiles measure 3/4 in x 3/4 in

  • @adrianayaccofani Thank you so much another thing. When you paint the title black do you do the DIAMOND GLAZE so that way it can stay painted,,

    Thanks once again

  • I think this helped me solve my problem - thanks so much for making a video!

  • I wonder why my previous comment was marked as "spam"? I truly am having sizing issues, as well as paper issues. My pictures bleed after I put the glaze on, and wanted to know if the issue might be with the paper. Also, I do not have phot-shop, so I have to manually size each pic ... I just wanted to know if you already knew the pre-set dimensions of the pics you print out. That's it in a nutshell. Again, thank you for the informative tutorial. :)

  • @carrietvardzik

I wonder the same, the comment appear as deleted by author in my side. Youtube is changing things around, a little twitch I guess.

The size I use in centimeters is 2x2 Cm for each image (236 x236 pixels I think) The bleeding could be because you are not sealing the image with Mod Podge first.

    Thanks for watching :)
