I guess we look at the vid and we don't know if we like it until we have watched it.

So whether we say we like or we hate it after that, it's pretty much the same thing. Both valid comments which may provoke further discussion, but neither had much bearing on us looking up or watching the vid in the first place as we didn't know either way at that point.

Actually all most people do say is "yeah dis is gr8" , but thankfully, not everyone or the comments would be soooo dull!

I'm probably relatively unique in that I don't watch TV. I heard about the Boosh on Facebook and checked it out on YT for the first time. My impression after watching about 20 sketches was that most of it fell rather flat for me, but there were flashes of brilliance here and there.

I should probably watch all of it it to form the most accurate opinion, but I don't know if that is justified on what I've seen so far.

You're actually not alone. I never watch TV. Yeah there's some shows like South Park that'll I'll watch online or buy the DVDs.

Mighty Boosh had an alright first season, a great second season where they had a great balance of surrealist humour and plot but series three isn't great. It's not trying to be a show anymore, just be random.

But watch series 2 dude, they got it spot on in that series.

As brilliant as those shows are, the Mighty Boosh is a different sort of humor. Comparing the Mighty Boosh to Little Britain is like comparing a monkey to a bag of dicks. Although the Boosh is definitely inspired by Monty Python, which nothing can compare to. But I love the Boosh for what it is, one of the most original outlandish shows of the past decade. I'm sorry you don't see it the same way, but you certainly do have a good taste in comedy by what you've listed.

OK we'll see in 10 years time which are regarded as the best shows of all time. I can guarantee the Boosh wont be in the same league as the others. The reason there has been so little good comedy over the past decade is that the BBC is dead on it's feet and strapped for viewers and cash compared to what it used to be. So yes, you could argue the Boosh is the best of what we have, but on reflection, what we have is not much.

Python wasn't perfect. Some of it's sketches did fall rather flat but among those were many absolute gems.

I'm really hoping for another good off the wall comedy show from the Beeb or someone else but the Boosh just isn't it, and isn't likely to be on current showing. I wonder how many people here raving about the Boosh would put it ahead of Python, the Office, or even the fast show.

Sure the Boosh is trying to push the envelope and they are to be commended for that at least ...but come on...

British humour used to rule the roost but, due to stagnation, it doesn't anymore. You seem to be under the impression that your examples of comedy are still funny to the modern audience in it's entirety. This is not the case. Monty Python, Only Fools, Fawlty Towers etc are decades old and the humour just hasn't aged well. Boosh isn't going to be as widely loved by any stretch but it's trying to push the envelope.

And i see bits of the young ones in the boosh aswell. Being inspired by something doesnt mean you have to rip it off, hence why it's not the exact same type of humor precisely.

So broaden your mind to the word "inspired", because your perception of the word has just made you make an ass of yourself.
