  • hESCR is wasting BILLIONS OF TAX PAYER DOLLAR$.

If you don't agree with my statement, then prove me wrong. Show me where any published ESCR, has helped anyone at any time.

Hell, I'll give all, three days to research.

Time to put the research dollars into hASCR and quit wasting our money.

  • Salient points in context:

    Nature 2002

Researchers tagged specific points on mammalian embryos (blastocysts) shortly after fertilization successfully demonstrating that they come to lie at predictable points in the embryo.

"Rather than being a naive sphere, it seems that a newly fertilized egg has a defined top-bottom axis that sets up the equivalent axis in the future embryo," says Nature.

Some studies suggest that such differentiation happens as early as the two celled stage.

  • WILLFULLY IGNORING FACTS, IS NOT SCIENTIFIC

    From the Journal NATURE, 2002

"It seems that a NEWLY FERTILIZED EGG has a defined top-bottom axis that sets up the equivalent axis in the future embryo," says Nature. Some studies suggest that such differentiation happens as early as the TWO CELLED stage.

"What is clear is that developmental biologists will no longer dismiss early mammalian embryos as featureless bundles of cells - and that leaves them with some work to do."

  • "Adult " stem cells are already curing people. For 1 example see /watch?v=uDEDHxj8A9E

Obama's decision is as much based on his morals as Bush's was based on his morals.

    Some Christians are against ESCR.

Obama says it's wrong tor them to base their decision on morals.

    Some Christians are for ESCR.

Obama says their moral decision is correct and ALL the taxpayers must pay to support that decision.

Isn't it enough that he already has ALL the taxpayers paying for overseas abortions?

  • 1 w/e you are going to with the abortion thing is unrelated

2 Only the banning human embryonic stem cell research is based on previous moral pressures. A stem cell is not a human. Using stem cells is not using humans. Don't need brainwashed morals to accept it, it's just logic.

3 In order to transform adult stem cells into embryonic stem cells to do more, embryonic stem cells need to be researched first.

  • OnAllLevels

    1. Abortion "thing" is related. We are talking about living HUMANS at various prebirth stages.

    2. Human embryonic stem cells ultimately come from destroyed HUMANS

    3. Do we REALLY need to research HUMAN embryonic stem cells to get cures?

It's all very simple. A human being is ALWAYS a human being. It is not a tree, or a stone or a dog.

  • 1. Overseas abortions and how taxes work is not related to stem cell research.

    2. Human embryonic stem cells come from human embryonic stem cells. Not destroyed humans. Otherwise we would use dead bodies. Saying a stem cell is a human is like saying a piece of silicon is a computer.

    3. Yes human stem cell research is needed to get cures derived from human stem cell research.

    4. Yes, as a stone is always a stone, and a dog is always a dog.

    ____

I see. Do you believe in spontaneous generation, also?

  • finally!!!

  • I hope you guys don't give up searching alternatives such as adult stem cells, sure embryonic ones are the best but only if you get it without destroying the embryo first, there must be ways around it.

  • Blastocysts grow indefinitely, that is what bush approved for those 16 stem cell lines. If a cell is removed, the pre-embryo keeps growing till it has enough to start specializing.
