im very sad today.I had to vet come check out a horse that i got in a trade.I traded my SOUND 2 yr old blue roan tobiano APHA filly!!!OMG this mare has navicular!!I was told that she didnt but i signed a contract.The horse was not lame while i tried her out and not for weeks.i believe it's because she is due for shoes.But, she has a cyst and her navicular bone is messed up.I'm hoping shoes will correct her.
My horse has navicular too. i have the certain shoes that take weight off her heels. the PRL shoeing. Those shoes are a miracle. now that i have them i can canter everywhere. :D When i first found out she had navicular i was so worried, i never knew a shoe could help.
No, they don't -- and I never claimed they did.

Unfortunately medications only have a 2% absorbency rate in the blood stream. CORRECTIVE shoeing thus remains the better alternative at this time.

my horse just got navicular disease. is that all you do is the PRL shoes or do you give injections too?
