Brilliant video John, Carlisle is one of the places I would love to film at at some point in the future. I had no idea East Coast ran trains into Carlisle, is that a regular working? :)
@MrCreepy101 hi andy, no the east coast was diverts due to engineering work between newcastle and edinburgh. carlisle is one of my favorite places which is why i forked out £100+ do do this trip. i wish i could do it every weekend :D
@pinza55007 Aaah, that would explain it, seemed a bit odd to see East Coast HSTs on the West Coast Main Line! That fare seems a bit steep, but going by the action it looks like it's worth the cost :D
@MrCreepy101 my fare was about £78, and callums was just over £22. but we had 6 hours there and 6 hour journey each way. i am happy that i got value for money, but this trip was a one off for me. if i do go again, it would have to be on a weekday and maybe do an all nighter there.
@pinza55007 The all nighter sounds could be a good option, from what I understand a fair amount of overnight freight goes through there. If I go I would probably make a weekend trip, get some good stuff over 2 days, that said £78 is quite good value considering the distance to travel, when I went up to Manchester a few years back it cost me about the same then - but now the fares have gone up it would now be a little more expensive!
@MrCreepy101 it was £78 with the faily and friends railcard. i think you need a kid to travel with you. the chances of you finding a kid you could take on an allnighter are practically zero :P my full adult fare would be almost £120 which i cant afford.
