I have seen this shaft drive system in our shop before. It does work well and has all the benefits mentioned in the video. The only drawback is the weight. It is heavier than a conventional drive-train or a belt-drive.
@mrbikeman Thanks for the comment. All in our shaft drive and components are about a pound heavier than a conventional drive. Most folks find it to be a small price to pay for the ease of use and reduced maintenance. I wouldn't use it for racing, but for commuting and rec riding we love the advantages it gives the rider.
@mschwodler The belt drive provides many of the advantages that a shaft drive does, but it still has exposed parts so it is not as durable as the shaft drive. It also requires very precise frame orientation to ensure that it remains efficient and in good working order. We like them we just like the shaft drive better. Shocking I know!

The Shimano hubs on Dynamic's bicycles are freewheel hubs so you can coast and backpedal at any time. In addition, you can shift while pedaling on our bikes. The gears in the Shimano hubs are forged and heat treated and designed for long term abuse. - Patrick, Owner
