But ended getting controlled by Sovereign. The Illusive Man could have joined the Reapers for the same reason, or have his own interests in hand. Notice how all throughout ME2, everyone says you cant trust Cerberus, while it seems they are on your side. The Illusive Man... I highly doubt he is a full human...

He looks scared, not glad that the reapers have arrived. If the illusive man is with the reapers then the producers of ME changed his character while making ME3. Just like the "Lost" Producers, just make up stuff and change characters personality over and over again. This reminds me of JK announcing that Prof. Dumbledore was gay because JK changed it.

@stonewall97 no matter what ending you choose in ME2 if you notice the look on his face when he is looking at either the scans from EVI or the plans that you gave hijm, you can see the hint of a smilie on his lips, which would indicate that BioWare did not change anything, and that they have followed through on something they saw continuing thorugh at least 3 games

@dashslasher Plus, in the comic Mass Effect Evolution he was zapped by a monolith object that indoctrinated turians during the first contact war, including Saren's brother back when Illusive Man was just an Alliance merc, but for some reason the monolith had a different effect on him, the monolith didn't change his organic body with synthetic parts but he got those freaky blue eyes and could hear the telepathic commands of the monolith.

@TBaldric1 True, but you gotta think of the 'what if's' - this game has a massive story and unfortunately we're given a big chunk of that - but not enough to accurately predict whats gonna happen in ME3 (regarding the illusive man and cerberus).

My guess is that they are indoctrinated by the Reapers (already speculation about that) + that you have to fight the illusive man, maybe you get the choice of saving him (paragon) or killing him (renegade) - maybe he'll be your ally if you save him?

They should bring back exp for every enemy you kill and get rid of the loading screens, it feels too much of a shooter/level thing than an actual rpg. The cool thing about ME1 was the nonlinear experience. Like walking out of the Normandy doors or something else like that. However, I loved ME2 mechanics, just not the fact there wasn't much player customization elements. Also I hope they do what Noire did and pack three disks in there, that'd be epic.
