First of all i think u should edit the topic from the "first Arab" to the "first Arab singer" just to be clear. Anyway, cheb mami, rachid taha, khalid, etc have appeared in most european stations way before haifa, and i would say even many other arab performers have appeared in most euro tv since the fifties. As for comical purposes ghadafi and yassir arafat were the pioneer arabs in not only italian tv but all of western tv station.:).
