  • Screech...psychic.......wing attack...LOL WTF

  • this use to be my favourite song as a child, good memories will never be erased :')

  • A true Pokemon trainer defeats Brock with a Pikachu.

  • @lDracox3l Sadly pikachu has no moves it can use against Brock when you face him(unless you train it a lot)

  • *comments on Misty's Starmie*

    *Gets thumbs up*

  • played this during hw, f***ing epic

  • @joeandson if u dont want that people understand what u write.. dont write anything at all..

  • @KillswitchEnrageZero understand? I'm pretty sure everyone understands what f***ing means, I wasn't trying to mask it. I know the fucking internet gets this crap.

  • ...cerulean gym...misty...starmie...bubblebeam...-.-'

  • I remember when I first got Blue version for christmas when I was like...7? Maybe 6? It was when pokémon had just come out over here, when it was in the infancy of popularity. I had no idea what pokémon was, and being a stupid lil' kid, I just skipped passed the long walls of text and it took me forever just to get out of Oak's lab. Eventually, I gave in and asked my brother what to do. He said I had to pick up a pokéball, I asked him what that was, and...Oh, look at that...Nostalgia tears...

  • FUCK NEWBIE TRAP MAKING US CHOOSE CHARMANDER BECAUSE HES THE COOLEST JUST TO HAVE ME FIGHT BROCK

  • fucking dust in my eyes

  • @ksa482 what's dust got to do with pkmn?

  • @joeandson Sand attack, probz.

  • Erika sends out Vileplume, level 29 (cake!)... Koga sends out Weezing, level 43 @_@ my first reaction I was a kid

  • Hidro Pump 1:07

  • @LionelFidel93 surf.

  • Someone's battling KOGA! ^_^

  • For the battery issue, it's really easy to replace them. Unscrew the back, slide the front off and pry off the little arms holding the battery down. Replace gen 1 or 2's battery with a C2 2025 batteries (I think that's what they're called), glue/tape the arms on the new battery and enjoy. You'll be able to save again.

  • Why does everyone have the same version of the song with all the sound effects in it? I'm about to go plug my GameBoy Pocket into Audacity and record it myself.

  • @OshawottCakes LOLx

  • @OshawottCakes if your bor dislike the 1st generation of pokemon he will be gay forever haha jk he clearly hasn't lived life yet xD

  • @OshawottCakes You must disown him as your brother.

  • now the intro part you can here in pokemon black

  • arg..... people don't understand what I meant. All I meant was that your original save file on your cartridge will be lost one day. No exceptions, unless you risk shorting out the cartridge.

  • The echo just brings out the nostalgia running through my veins during this entire song.

  • @PokeFan2845 ding-ding-ding We have a winner!

  • 0:14 WHOOOOOOOAAAAA

I never noticed how complex the music was when I was a kid.

  • @OshawottCakes You should have said "My penis is misty's starmie" '_'

  • I was able to name the Pokemon and the moves that created the sound effects. I have played this game far too much.

  • you know that shit just got real when misty sends out starmie

  • Damn this theme got me so pumped up when I was kid.

  • @VuileTeef if you had been reading the responses to the responses to my comment, you'd see that you'd lose your original save no matter what, unless you want to risk shorting out the cartridge and ruining the game forever.

  • To all those who are asking why the quality is different:

Pokemon Red and Blue ran their sound on a quality roughly at 240p.

Turn the video's quality down to 240p, and..... Nostalgia.

  • I believe the guide is from psypokes btw

  • Google: why doesn't my pokemon gold save. the first result is from Yahoo answers. in the top comment the guy gives a link to a guide how to fix it. works for red, blue, yellow, silver and diamond as well. I did it and it works, it will cost you just a little bit of time, but it's worth it ;)

  • @Dustindarninvalid or you could end up overloading the cartridge and ruin your childhood FOREVER by hooking up an extra power source (it's not nearly as easy as simply "Keeping constant voltage," you've got to have a variable power source that only kicks in when the internal battery is no longer providing voltage, but won't give off too much power if the battery is still feeding the save. In other words, spend a lot of money, or accept the fact that your save is dead.)

  • @thepersonwhocomentz

Those batteries can be replaced, without even a loss of save game if you keep constant voltage. Childhood = saved.

  • Okay, I think it's time I bring some knowledge to this discussion. The battery in the cartridge is what is keeping the save file alive. It will die after about a decade or so, and your save will be gone. They are replaceable, but it requires soldering, and as soon as you disconnect the battery it wipes your save, so you need to back it up first with something like a Mega Memory Card for Game Boy and restore your save after replacing the battery (I have one, they can store quite a lot of saves).

  • Brock and his Onyx... Nough said.

  • @SIOYGYGYG With Charmander as your starter. Enough Added

  • @BeeRockPville Exactly

  • OMG the Pokemon noises. Hypno's Pokemon cry!

  • @bluedemonx31 Nothing lasts forever, am I right? Although I do like the ROMs so that I don't have to worry about internal batteries and stuff like that (although Gen III onwards saves the game like how a flash drive would, so I can play my beloved Sapphire 'till the end of time :) )

  • @thepersonwhocomentz unles you use a rom on your computer ;)

  • @pokewhite86 Myth. The internal batteries of GBA games are able to be recharged, the original GB and GBC cartridges are not able to be recharged, through any means. Replacing them is the only option. (Although you could replace them with a rechargable 3-volt, if they exist).

  • @OshawottCakes yeah i know....happened to me too....

  • @Famicomnoobation @Jono1874 @BlueLight365 but nothing is there to keep your save alive while you replace the battery, unless you want to risk overloading the cartridge with electricity and burning out your game by using a separate battery too keep it powered while you change the 3 volt battery. Either way, you WILL lose your old save without risking overload, and will have to start from the beginning (even if you get your old pokemon traded back, you'll still have to restart the save,)

  • I wish this music would play every time I ran into someone I don't like.

  • nice i love this! check out the remix i did for this and tell me what you think:)

  • Ahh...facing Misty on the gameboy of my cousin, as I wasn't allowed to get one myself. This song will always have that 'epic' feeling, purely due to that moment alone. Dat Starmie...

  • @TheCajunGambit1 All I meant was that your original save (with your precious team and completed pokedex and the like) WILL be lost, regardless (unless you somehow keep the game powered while replacing the battery.

  • When this music plays you KNOW shits about to get real.

  • woah anyone elses hands sweating after this?

  • @emokidmercedes I'm not entirely sure, but I think there are adapters that would allow you to transfer your save from the cartridge to your computer, in which case it would be possible to keep your save alive after you replace the battery in the original cartridge, but I may be wrong, idk.

  • @Pretzelman718 but then what keeps the game powered on, and thus keeps your save alive, during the time while there's no battery in the cartridge? Either way, you'd lose your original save.

  • @thepersonwhocomentz NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!1

  • Listened to this for the past hour.

  • FOR ALL THE PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO DON'T WANT TO LOSE THEIR CHILDHOOD:

You know how pokemon generations 1 and 2 saved the game?

They used a small internal battery that essentially kept the game on permanently, and without it, the save would be lost every time the game was turned off.

However, they use such little power, they can last for a long time, about 15 years.

Pokemon was released in America in 1998, just under 14 years ago.

Play your childhood while you still can.

    It'll be gone forever soon

  • @thepersonwhocomentz You could always replace the battery.

  • @thepersonwhocomentz Now a days you can just play Pokemon Red and Blue on a Gameboy Emulator on your Computer! Childhood is not gone! :)

  • @thepersonwhocomentz or you can replace the internal battery,

  • @thepersonwhocomentz You can replace the internal battery.

    I've done it many times.

  • @thepersonwhocomentz That's why you can change the batteries in the cartridge. Just put your Pokemons in Stadium and then change the batteries =)

  • @thepersonwhocomentz gen 1 had a save batterry? damn i already lost all my data for silver.

  • @thepersonwhocomentz Or at least until you melt a pen into the screwhole, crack it open, and change the battery ;3

  • @thepersonwhocomentz I thought they charged the battery in the Gamepack while you played?

  • @thepersonwhocomentz just use a game boy advance sp and everytime you charge the battery, the game battery will also charge

  • @thepersonwhocomentz mine are already all dead ): that's why roms and emulators were invented for android phones <3 not the same, but I'll bare with it

  • @thepersonwhocomentz After 15 years your save file will be gone, but you can start a new game that you will be able to save. So don't worry.

  • @Joricky12 Actually that isnt true, but the battery is easly replaced with a common watch battery and a screw driver. Your save is fucked no matter what tho

  • @thepersonwhocomentz Sadly, my battery failed a long time ago...

  • @thepersonwhocomentz open it up and replace the battery? thats what i did.

  • @thepersonwhocomentz I saw that on Memebase. I detect slight BS in those statements.

  • @thepersonwhocomentz You can replace the batteries if you're careful. Granted, the data will still be lost. Also, fun fact, the battery in my copy of silver died years ago (replaced it, but still) but Red still worked.

  • Comment removed

  • @thepersonwhocomentz Theoretically you could replace the battery (at the cost of your saved game) by melting the top of a pen cap and putting it around the screw on the back.

by doing this you are responsible for any damage done to your game. as a pointer, i reccomend you try this with a different game that you don't play first.

  • @thepersonwhocomentz holy crap those things last THAT long? *is pissed he lost his gen 1 and 2 games years ago*

  • @thepersonwhocomentz lol I left my red edition in the rain some day and exactly this phenomen happened oO

  • @thepersonwhocomentz

You do know you can replace it with another lithium battery?

  • @thepersonwhocomentz It's possible to replace the batteries, luckily...

  • @thepersonwhocomentz It's not hard to replace those batteries. I've replaced them before.

  • @thepersonwhocomentz emulation says no if you really don't care. if it's about playing it on a handheld, maybe.

  • @thepersonwhocomentz Memebase?

  • @thepersonwhocomentz actually my state wont save anymore since 2009 so i was a bit fucked but now i play emulators or just dont stop charging my gameboy advance sp so i dont have to turn it off....

  • @thepersonwhocomentz *BITCH PLEASE* Have You heart about Pokemon Yellow\Red\Blue Version on PC? ;)

  • @lasomaaa

That's just not the same as playing your actual red/blue cartridge in an actual game boy. I'm pretty sure that's what he means.

If you can't feel that kind of nostalgia, you might as well play FireRed/LeafGreen.

  • @MPieter88 Of course, i know and You're right! Just kiddin'! :)

  • @thepersonwhocomentz nope. GBA roms man. I play that shit on my psp.

  • @thepersonwhocomentz No problem: we've got emulators!

  • @thepersonwhocomentz My Pokemon Gold lost the save function before that long. Besides, you can always play the games on an emulator these days. It's not an hassle with Pokemon.

  • I love how hydro pump moves from one speaker to the other.

Even better when you're wearing headphones.

  • Unfortunately, the stupid sound effects halfway through ruin it. Also, since it seems everyone copied this video (or wherever this video gets it from) ALL OF THE VIDEOS have the crap sound effects. Thanks for bleeding my ears halfway through.

  • @cramernjen the official soundtrack has these sound effects so you can do nothing, anyway,i love this as it is,but i respect you

  • Look Pokemon tower Defense matches Too

  • Interesting little bit of trivia for the music buffs out there: the first four bars of this song are played in 7/4 time.

  • This is my fave track from the game!

  • 151 pokemon then 597 pokemon now in just a decade

  • Stupid lances gyrados...

  • I used to be a pokemon trainer like you...

Then I look a farrow to the knee

  • good times

I remember that I was noob, Brock beat me 2012454484516 times just using Geodude, and I finally beat him when Caterpie/Metapod evolved into Butterfree

  • @alflord4000 I was a noob too (not now, i can take my friend's lv 100 ubers out in 6 to 4 with my low-stat lv 100 machamp, empoleon and that kind of sh*t), but i managed to defeat misty's starmie with my lv 25 charmeleon. my brother's pikachu got defeated 384783748375 times, however

  • @TheDTeam53 btw pikachu was lv 27, it was lg (so: harder) and by that time i was so good that he was still stuck if i would'nt have helped.

(yes, its strange to react on your own comment)

  • @TheDTeam53 You're still a noob.

  • i like the battle effects haha

  • Misty sends out Starmie, overpowered Pokemon of Destruction. Ah shit.

  • Okay, seriously, who uses a Jynx?
