If you have been to Grateful Dead show it was magic from the music to the people most loving peaceful jams, Marsh mellow wars were fun too! Sorry if you missed them. I hope to see more of the members again it can't be bad! Guys if you see me here bring me to the show lost touch in Utah.

seen "the dead" a few times in the early tour, is it just me or was Warren holding back on some of the early jams? I could sense he was really nervous, well who can blame him? what a fucking big shoes to fill. I thoroughly enjoyed the times there. Some of the later shows on the tour Warren was comfortable and was INTENSE.
@goodolboy805 damn i heard them toying with those opening chords and knew it was st stephen. def one of my favorites. gotta say my all time favorite will have to be from LIve/Dead
@griffinmpable My favorite too. I was there that night at The Fillmore West it was Grateful Dead - Pentangle -The Sir Douglas Quintet and as any one who has heard Live/Dead knows they were Hot that night. I still have the handbill I got at the show. Glad to see 4 of the guys doing that night still doing it with the others,

c mon you all. the grateful dead WERE GREAT. now they just wanna cover their retirement expenses. if ya missed em, too bad. find somwthing in the NOW not from the PAST
that is ridiculous howeeye! how about people who are genuinely interested in the development of an artist's expression throughout their life?
i love and have spent years and years learning every detail of the grateful dead's member's art. it is a super bonus for me to be able to experience that today after they've matured to this point.
now if they just give us reasonable ticket prices.......
@howeeye The guys playing this music are in The Now playing it. Your the one who missed something not to know that. I'm not one who missed them or that.
my friend , i 1st saw the dead in april 72 in NYC at the academy of music and total about 150 times- when jerry was good he was good- when he was on the junk- well there are many tapes of him playin on the junk they speak for themselves. peace.
howeeye my friend I first saw The Warlocks in Redwood City in 1965.
Few months later they changed their name to The Grateful Dead-I think Garcia was way more than good. I think he was Amazing but Yep the Junk took it's toll.
However growing up listening to local bands with guitar players like Garcia, Cipollina & Duncan, Jorma, Carlos, Jerry Miller, David Nelson & Barry The Fish among others this Hayes guy sounds real just average to me-I don't get it with him.
@6749er Check out warrens work with gov't mule and the allman brothers. sounds to me like you've just never listened to him enough. lol can you tell i'm a big fan?
@asaum3 I have checked out him with them. It's just a matter of personal taste, I know lot of people like his playing a lot and I'm sure not trying to talk anyone out of it, just not for me.
@6749er right on. Its absolutely about personal taste i agree. Thanks for not being the immature guy rantin and ravin here about political bullshit you know. I'm just happy that the boys are still playin. check out some of my playlists if you're interested. I feel I got some pretty cool stuff on there. peace
@asaum3 Thanks, and I can see why people really like him. It's not like I dislike him or think he can't play. The guys like playing with him and a lot of people really dig it and that's all good with me. I will check out your playlist
i first saw the dead in 72 at watkins glenn i was hooked a bag of mushrooms oz of gold weed for the weekend 14 years old lol saw the dead around 120 saw bob saw jerry jerry was the best had to see him live 1972 till about 1982 then he had moments but just moments of greatness he was great from 72 to 82 and then a couple of shows after that
Jerry was "good" a couple times after 1982? My first show was in Chicago 72,119 total and I dare say Jerry was "good" more than a couple times after 82. Are you quite sure you ever saw them at all. That 69. 71, 72, 76 or 7 elitist Dead crap is for the birds. Even in the last show, the So Many Roads was up among their great moments.
Billy looks so different - But Great, as they all do. Dicky Betts is a fantastic choice to fill for Jerry. They look really comfortable together. Hope they tour - would be some good times.
HOLY SHIT! This band ought to tour 80+ shows a year just like when Jerry was here. It would be THE biggest thing ever, would dwarf any Rolling Stones or U2 tour. Warren has it, go with it!!!!
This is cool and inspirational and it's killer that this music is still vital but no one can replace the tone, chops, mindset, humor and funkiness that was Jerry Garcia!
Warren is pretty hot but even in combination with others amongst the guitarists Phil and Bobby have played with, but even three of them don't add up to one Jerry.
I still love the Dead and this music never fails to affect me in a really positive way though - Dead Forever!
Dead tour 2009 was the end. miss you mikey and billy
