This lady says the total opposite of jenny finch. Finch closes at the end of her pitch. And says once they release the ball they become a fielder. Finch says she hates girls that are not ready for the ball. I'll take Jenny's word over this lady.
I hate to say it, but if you watch Cat, Jennie, or Lisa they all finish this way. I was taught during the days of bringing your pivot foot through "slamming the door shut"...but go on Youtube and watch these elite pitchers and NONE...absolutely NONE of them finish with "slam the door shut". I wish they had the knowledge that they have now when I played!
this is not the right ending. When your pitching in a game and your leg is behind your other leg you aren't ready for a ball that is coming at you. It will get you hurt and you are off balanced.
This is contrary to what any pitching coaches that I have encountered have tought (including a two-time All-American). It creates a vast imbalance at the end of the pitch and places the pitcher in a VERY poor defensive posture. Simple physics dictate that the pitch will be faster if you do not slam your legs together. By pulling the pivot foot through, you carry far more momentum toward the batter.
If any one who knows anyhting about softball this is the way to pitch. And if you watcvh any upper level pitchers 18u gold international, pro ,this the technique. any thing else is wrong this woman has a ton of pitchers who made big time college careers.
if you watch any college pitcher that is worth anything, this is exactly how they pitch, for those of you who are saying that this woman is horrible. also, i am a former college pitcher from TN and this is absolutely the way we were always taught.
i would prefer RON ENGLE, Kelly engle, rob digle or any body else you know but not this pitchin coach i go to ron engle he does any age! go to somebody else becuz u want to thow leggal!!!!!!
poor girl she'll never learn that way if she spends all that time ''looking pretty'' then she'll suck come on she'll never be ready for the ball if it comes fling back at her
Nice... Lets have the pitcher finish in a stance in which she is *NOT* going to be ready for a ball coming back at her. So question, how would she field a ball on the back side of her. Recall, once the ball is gone, she is now a fielder, not a pitcher.
i am a pitching instructor. look at all the pressure on the front knee at the finish. knee surgery waiting to happen! also very hard on the back, hip, ankle and back. this lady is gonna have kids getting surgery, not scholarships!you lift up and rotate on the front leg and let your body flow through. much more natural and less pressure on body. especially the knees. hope this helps.
This 'swipe my leg to the side' that is being taught is something that my coaches have tried to break me of for YEARS. I still do it, but its not encourged!

this woman teaches completely incorrect, ie crowhopping, balance, finish, closing the hip. She is really bad and will get kids hurt

hi there, does anyone know why the 'slam the door shut' method has become archaic? i currently do the 45-degree method but never figured out why.

Your right, just ask Lisa Fernandez. Her lower back and hip is all jacked up. All because of the this Figure 4 non-sense.
