This has been the only FF game I've played so far (I've played FF Origins, FFVII, FFX, FFX-2, this one and a bit of FFVIII) which I've actually wanted to focus on a romance and it hasn't. I mean, I normally like games that aren't just based on romance, but in this one I was longing for something more between Balthier and Fran. Anyway, still love them, they've moved up to the priviliged position of my favourite FF couple, closely followed by Cloud and Tifa. :)
