I find the best way to get good at this god forsaken game is to just sit down and explore the different ways to outsmart other people. This game isnt about skill its just being in the right state of mind. To me I think the only weapons that require true skills for moving targets are:

Sniper

Torque Bow

Shotgun

Hammer of Burst

I personally seem to have good skills in using the torque Bow and shotgun.

Hammerburst is freaking easy once you get a triggerfinger, Torque bow is easy as well. Sniper and the Shotgun do take alot of skill, except for two-piecing.

You don't really have to use it, the connections are occassionally ok even without the need of host. The hammerburst is so frigging awesome, dont like chainsaws? Down them before they get close. That'll teach them for trying to noobsaw :D

I agree with the comparisons to gears 1, the sniper was soooooo much better and shotguns packed a real punch. But I have to say how much does the boltok rule? That is a weapon that improved by quite a bit.

The main reason Gears 2 sucks so bad is the main 2 weapons in Gears 1, the sniper and shotgun(which by the way are the only non-noob weapons)have both been broken, and toned down to secondary. And they've tried to make the game too tactical, I don't even go for headshots anymore with the sniper. Because in Gears 2 ranked an active is almost NEEDED, for headshots. Also Host is ridiculous in Gears 2, I actually think host gets more health.
