  • Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier is my favorite German Beer ;)

  • @sector69102 still one of mine as well...

  • does it taste like the weihenstephaner dunkle wiess dark beer, or the tucher dunkle wiess, which do u like better the weihenstephaner dark or the tucher dunkle hefe or paulaner salvator dopple bock? Thanks

  • @tbreebo i have had the weihenstephaner dunkle weiss, but not the tucher dunkle... of the 2 ive had. id say they dont taste similiar, and as far as which one i like better... touch pick. there both great beers...but im gonna go with the weinstephaner.

  • @jjrudy41 Hey I am doing the same right now and I tell you it is real good! Hey if you don't mind can you do a review of Trappist Westvleteren 12 I seen it on BA and it has a real good review so can you get back at me when you do a video? Thank you.

  • @Looneytycoon408 well two things... number one, that beer is almost imposable to get... and number 2.. i already reviewed it ;) check it out and i hope you enjoy...

  • The Salvator is the original of the style, brewed as an ale. In fact,it says "ale" on the label. But yeah,it's sweet, malty creamy smooth on the tongue. But then I got the spicy Haulertau bittering on the back of my tongue. It's better around 50F to get a lil more aroma/taste. I love how they craft this beer. It does sort of remind me of the malt-forward English ales. IMO,a good turkey day brew.

  • @unionrdr yeah this is one great beer... interesting that in todays sence a boch is traditioanlly brewed like a lager, but a bock use to be brewed like ales.. i missed that this said ale on the label. so the fact that they made a boch i the orifginal style is pretty cool... cheers

  • Hey Jay I love this beer as well...... If you Like this beer you should try the ayinger celebrator is delicious!

  • @mattyslicks i plan on trying that real soon.

  • @jjrudy41 I dont know if youve tryed it yet but its really good. Spendy but worth it

  • @Adol666 did you see my home page??? it is on my coming soon video list... you will have to wait just a few more days to see what i thought of it... that video is going u probably monday feb 28th....

  • It's my favorite beer, along with Celebrator. Gotta love the kick a Doppelbock has.

  • @cagwa you know what. i never had the celebrator... maybe sometime soon i will.

  • hes like turtle from entourage..

  • @booster330 never saw the show.

  • Just now trying for the 1st time and you nailed the smell. It is like a caramel apple. I never even thought of it while I was smelling it but you are right.

Also agree similiar to an Octoberfest. I would rate it excellent on your scale.

The alcohol did warm you as is went down. I finished the first 1/2 and having the rest with spaghetti. Yum!

They have now changed their bottles to a regular brown color. Much better to protect the beer and looks a lot better too.

    Cheers!

  • @preferhomebrew its been so long since i had this i forgot what i rated this, but i remember thinking this was a great beer. i plan on getting some of this again very soon. your description are spot on. i think mine was in a brown bottle. what did they use to come in?

  • Why-n-Stef-ahh-ner (ahh = when the doc checks your throat, he says 'make ahh..')

LOL! Anyway... just relax and enjoy the beer!

  • i pronounce it ...wine steph on er.. even thought i know its said more like... ven staph ner...

  • Hi,

a very good review, you mentioned some very good facts!

The 'Salvator' Double Bock is NOT a Hefe Weissbeer!

Technical it's a very strong Lager (or Maerzen) that is brewed with dark barley malts and less water to reach a higher alcohol content.

'Paulaner Salvator' is the oldest Bockbeer in the world and the name 'Salvator' was pantented by the Paulaner Brewery in 1896

You're right, it's a seasonal beer and in Germany we have special festivals dedicated to these beers.

    Joe from Germany

  • i love the salvator, your right its very maezen like. glad you like the review.

  • yeah i know i don't say it right. thanks for the help, but im still not sure i would be staying it right..

    v-hin-shit-fur-ner???

  • hey ! youngs double chocolate is my favorite beer too... and samuel smiths oatmeal is about to arrive to my country so ill taste it... but for a higher alcohol i love bocks... and this dopplebock is great

  • i guess we have similar taste then.... your going to love the oatmeal. i think.

  • who hoo 100 views

  • this beer was great. go get one...

  • You should put a pad lock on your fridge. It's like a treasure chest! good review.

  • good idea hahaha... i just put duck tape. i hope that works.

  • yeah i heard that one is good. i'm saving it, because i'm expecting a german boot in the mail sometime soon. so you will see the review on it very soon.

  • Great review, I just had this one not to log ago, I liked it alot too.

  • thanks.

  • Yeah I like toffee and caramel if they're intense. A lot of Oktoberfestbiers have those flavors, but they're weak.

  • tis was vey tasty.

  • I'll have to re-review the Sam Adams Double Bock. Maybe a fresh bottle would taste similiar to this

  • doubt it. paulaners is a wheat, but i will know just to compare.

  • Haha, what a coincidence! I kind of chose it the same way as you did - just randomly out of the beers I had. Good review, it was also interesting to see the beers in your fridge!

  • tell me abut it. thanks. I always try to do something different.
