@treeman335 actually it's pronounced bata, because that's what it is.put an iron band around it and it is a burda.it also depends on if you are in the north or the south.the north still speaks irish and say sha-lay -lee.this is in accord with my family from buncranna ad muff.
@treeman335 also,an irish banjo is called a tenor banjo.since the banjo was introduced to ireland in the 1800's,it does not have an irish name. what is your source for this information?mine is clan o'dochartaigh.
@crazyroosterfist I'm from Southern Ireland and we all it a Shillelagh, im gonna guess your from North, thats why we say it differently, and just if interested, im from clan Drofinn in Tipperary
@vince38curious2 not to mention i have 3 pitbulls. but i live way out in the sticks,it's pretty peaceful.hopefully it can stay that way. we worry about black bears and fisher cats more than anything.
@crazyroosterfist fisher cats What the hell is a fisher cat ??:-/ Question does balzerz ever speak during any of his How to videos?? I am half way through his Making katana koshirae, component tsuka 8/12 video and he has not said more than 10 words during more than an 1hr 20 mins of video so far ?
@vince38curious2 do a google search on fisher cats.think of a 70lb. tasmanian devil of mongoose. and no,mr. bolf doesn't talk in his videos. his english is spotty at best. it's more of a watch and learn situation.
@twitch01 i don't think you would say that if you came up on one out in the bush. regardless if they run away 90% of the time, there is still that 10% chance it will be aggressive.(especially in the spring)
@crazyroosterfist strange. I've come up on plenty out of bushes, Found them in the kitchen, seen em in my cabin and they always have run from me. I've never actually met any in the spring though, only summer.
@vince38curious2 no doubt a skull crusher!!oak is heavy as hell. black birch is real similar to cherry in hardness and weight, but not red.where i live, the old timers call it cherry birch. i have white, grey and black birch on my land.
Actually, its pronounced Sh-ill-al, a not Shi-lay-ley. a Shi-lay-ley is an Irish Banjo
