What is NHSBT?

We have transported blood and components emergent to a hospital 102 miles away.

Much is on an interstate highway.

Rarely do we need the siren because flashing headlights - the most effective emergency light - get noticed by traffic far ahead.

Do they wig-wag headlights in the UK?

I drive 'Blue Liight' for the NHSBT we often travel for a long distance an hour + some.

We are taught to get there as what we carry is needed! Losing time is better than not getting ther a tall.

I know other emergency services don't know what they are attending but to get there is paramount.

Training is so important and a real 'run' the first time is very different.

I'm a UK FF and know that if a responding appliance has a accident through careless driving ie: wrong speed for road conditions etc then all that achieves is control having to send out an appliance which was further away than the original one that had an accident to attend the initial call and perhaps futher appliances to attend the accident caused bt the initial attending appliance not to mention the aftermath of an appliance being of the run due to an accident that could've been advoided
