The snare sounds amazingly great, but I think it has some overtones, if it was me, I would put a muffilng ring on top to "dry" the sound and "voilá". Great playing, great products, great videos... Keep it up!
Sound projection and tone. With deeper snares, you get a deeper, fatter sound and more sound projection. 6.5" Depth is pretty much the general size that is good for all genres.
@talhofman My experience is that a 14 by 8 has alot more body, so it sounds fat when tuned lower, but also fat when tuned high (shallower snares lose body the higher you tune them).

the real test is not playin rim-shots , any snare will sound good when u hit rim-shots.
hit the middle of the snare, if u get a nice tone-u have a nice drum...simple.
