Magellan RoadMate for iPhone

I Prefer TOMTOM for iPhone. I Never Had Magellan RoadMate on my iPhone, But I Have Had NaviGon and it was not very good. TomTom Runs Without WiFi or Internet connection and Without Car Kit. When i had Navigon, the car symbol thing moved when i wasn't even moving the car. TOMTOM is what i Prefer...... Its Better.

Hi, I have Magellan RM 1700; my question is how long should last with a full battery charge, Im talking about if Im walking with M RM 1700?

Thnx for response. Your answers have convinced me to buy the app. Will probably get the magellan cradle also, which has great features. I like the adjustable clip on top for iphones with a case and even compatible with other gps apps so people can still use the cradle. Thank you

Hi maggie, have few questions. Does it have specific road exclusion/avoidance? Track log (bread crumb trail) while driving? List of upcoming turns? Audio out to listen to everything thru car speaker? Thank you

Hi gonando88, there is road avoidance where you can set your directions on how you would like to travel. Currently, there is no track log feature; however, we may implement this feature in our next updates. And yes the App is has the ability to show a list of upcoming turns and an audio out where you can listen through your car speakers.

The new look of the in-app music control is fantasic. Once accessed, music control floats on top of map menu for quick and easy access. It does not interfere with the built in iPod music player.

Yes, it does. You will have to download the App on your desktop and transfer it to your iPhone 3G/S or 2G iPod Touch.

can you still play music from the ipod while using this application? how would you connect the ipod to the car speakers while it''s in the holster?

Hi mrslash2000, there is an in-app feature where it allows users to play music during navigation. What kind of holster are you using? If you have an auxiliary cord/plug, you can directly play music through your car speakers.

it's like having a real gps unit.. it's not some whack application on your iPhone that's trying to be a gps unit.. all the features on RoadMate units are on it.. it's user friendly.. and well, customer service, you would never have a problem in that department.. I should know.. I'm one of them.. hahaha!

What's so good about it? and why is it better than Navigon?

I like it because of its shortcut features like the One Touch feature. It allowed me to edit and customize my favorite addresses and the POIs are alot easier to use IMO. I think the UI for Magellan's is alot easier to use than Navigon.
