I have a question. Is Jesus, the Son of God, truly gives salvation to those who truly believe in Him, or do you need to keep trusting Him while on earth

HELL IS REAL!!! If we have lied, stolen, hated someone, looked with lust, had sex outside of marriage, used profanity, etc., we are guilty and in danger of spending eternity in hell after this life. However, that is not God's desire for us. Christ came from heaven to take our punishment on Himself and die on a cross. @joel10000a I have read the Bible plenty of times from front to back. Just because this guy claims to have seen Heaven does not constitute hard scientific evidence. Maybe he can give us the coordinates so we can take a gander with a telescope, no? There is no evidence to support a life after death, or a "satan" for that matter. These are all holdovers from superstitious times. Trust science, NOT blind faith!
@joel10000a Because I found it interesting, I have also read the Quran numerous times. I have a vested interest in theology, even as an atheist. Just because Im an atheist doesnt mean I dont find the Bible an interesting read despite my lack of belief. Don't worry God can bring all things back to our rememberence. One day what he read so many times may just save his soul from hell. We never know who God will give another chance at the last minute. He can remember John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall have everlasting life. @nadea15 Sorry, but I don't understand what you are saying. We will have new glorified bodies in heaven, just like the one that Jesus had when he rose from the dead! We get those bodies at the rapture! People in heaven now, do not have their glorified bodies yet, but apparently we can recognize other spirits, now, in heaven.

@homegrowndave I will say it again, you do your good works AFTER you become Born Again! Nothing counts towards heavenly rewards, before a person becomes Born Again! Becoming Born Again is the first step towards getting to heaven! YOU DO HAVE TO LIVE A GOOD LIFE AFTER YOU BECOME BORN AGAIN TO GET TO HEAVEN! People will and do sin after becoming Born Again, but all they have to do is to be repentant and ask for forgiveness, and their rightstanding with God is totally restored!

I really hope that the majority (if not all) of the people will end up in Heaven, after all I don't wish Hell on anyone and I would LOVE for everyone to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, I know we have to become Born Again in Christ.

@joel10000a You evangelicals think you know everything. What do you have to say about the churches started by the apostoles of Jesus. There is no doctrine about being born again taught our orthodox church. Don't harp on the born again stuff as it is be all and end all. If you believe in Jesus and that he died on the cross for our sins that is good.

MOST of the people in your church are most likely NOT Born Again! If you say you don't need to become Born Again, you are INDEED calling Jesus a liar, which means you are not Born Again at all! I think that god should understand our position for doubting him. We are believing in a god that we can't see, feel, or hear, that takes a lot of faith. I have brief moments in my life that I feel completely alone and so I doubt if god is really there, does that make me a bad person? I know it makes me a bad christian, thats for sure but I still believe that god will let the most loving and righteous people into heaven even if they have doubts.

@TheNeomaster15 No, that's not what the Bible teaches. It says that becoming Born Again is a free gift from God, so that no man can boast about how good he was while in his human body, on earth. Becoming Born Again is a commitment to the Kingdom of God, whereby a person makes a positive confession that he recognizes he is a sinner, asks God to forgive him, and then invites Jesus to come into his heart and become the Lord of his life PLUS he promises to follow the teachings in the Bible!

Becoming Born Again results in a recreated spirit - a true supernatural experience with God, whereby your spirit is like switched to the "on" position to God, whereby before becoming Born Again a person's spirit is in the "off" position to God.

@AppleFreakish No, it's not possible to lose your salvation, BUT it is possible to give it back. In other words nothing can take your salvation away from you, but you can give it up, and we do when we go back into our old worldly ways, and never come back, by repenting. God will take you back if you "backslide", but you have to come back to God and ask for forgiveness for leaving Him. Many who do backslide, pray the Prayer of Salvation (sinner's prayer) again, to make sure they are forgiven!

The Bible says that without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God! So if you want to get to heaven you MUST have FAITH that Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit are who the Bible says they are, and then become Born Again! Heck, you don't need to prove that god exists, because he does exist. i really want to be with god, but somtimes i cant help it but i have tiny doubts, i have confessed my sins several times to god and asked him to come into my heart and for me to be reborn in his eyes, if i were to die right now would i go to heaven?
@nickclark1999 Sure you will! If you meant it with all your heart, when you prayed and asked Jesus to forgive your sins and to come into your heart! You are indeed Born Again! The devil will continue to try to get you back, by putting evil thoughts into your head, and to try to make you doubt that you are really Born Again. Just stay close to God by reading the Bible regularly, praying regularly, going to church regularly, and by doing what you can to help others find Jesus!
@nickclark1999 The Son of God said "Repent and believe" and that's daily. It's not that you did it once, it's that you're repenting daily, and believing and strengthening your faith through prayer and His word. Do you hate the sin you once loved, because it hurt Him? Do you love and seek, and hunger to do righteous works, and live with integrity before His eyes? You must believe that when God has said "Whoever believes in Me has eternal life" that He can't lie, and is faithful to His promises!

The Bible tells us that our own attempts at being righteous, are only "filthy rags" (an exact quote from the Bible). The Bible says that old things have passed away, and everything becomes new! @AppleFreakish Go read Revelation 3, where it indicates that it is possible for a Born Again person to have their name erased from the Book of Life. It wouldn't even mention it if it were not possible, right? The Bible says about itself, that there are no idle words in it! So, the way I think it works is that if a person becomes backslidden to the point where he no longer feels any draw at all from the Holy Spirit, to come back to God, then that is when he has had his name erased.
@AppleFreakish As long as a person who is backslidden, still feels the drawing and the need to come back to Jesus, and he can still bring himself to ask for forgiveness for all his sins since he started backsliding, then God will welcome him back! The key is whether or not that person would go to heaven, if he were to die, while in his backslidden state - I don't think he would, because I think his name would be erased from the Book of Life at the moment of his death, because he never repented.
I have a question. Is Jesus, the Son of God, truly gives salvation to those who truly believe in Him, or do you need to keep trusting Him while on earth

I think that god should understand our position for doubting him. We are believing in a god that we can't see, feel, or hear, that takes a lot of faith. I have brief moments in my life that I feel completely alone and so I doubt if god is really there, does that make me a bad person? I know it makes me a bad christian, thats for sure but I still believe that god will let the most loving and righteous people into heaven even if they have doubts.

Becoming Born Again is a commitment to the Kingdom of God, whereby a person makes a positive confession that he recognizes he is a sinner, asks God to forgive him, and then invites Jesus to come into his heart and become the Lord of his life PLUS he promises to follow the teachings in the Bible!

@AppleFreakish No, it's not possible to lose your salvation, BUT it is possible to give it back. In other words nothing can take your salvation away from you, but you can give it up, and we do when we go back into our old worldly ways, and never come back, by repenting. God will take you back if you "backslide", but you have to come back to God and ask for forgiveness for leaving Him. Many who do backslide, pray the Prayer of Salvation (sinner's prayer) again, to make sure they are forgiven!

@Decafeiner21 Because the only way to get to heaven is by FAITH! Some people do have supernatural experiences with Jesus or angels, but most true Christians do not! The Bible says that without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God! So if you want to get to heaven you MUST have FAITH that Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit are who the Bible says they are, and then become Born Again! Jesus, Himself, said in the Bible that unless a person becomes Born Again, he CANNOT see the Kingdom of God!

Heck, you don't need to prove that god exists, because he does exist. Did jesus have to prove himself to the devil that he was the son of god when he was undergoing the 40 days in the wilderness, nope and he didn't.

i really want to be with god, but somtimes i cant help it but i have tiny doubts, i have confessed my sins several times to god and asked him to come into my heart and for me to be reborn in his eyes, if i were to die right now would i go to heaven?

@nickclark1999 Sure you will! If you meant it with all your heart, when you prayed and asked Jesus to forgive your sins and to come into your heart! You are indeed Born Again! The devil will continue to try to get you back, by putting evil thoughts into your head, and to try to make you doubt that you are really Born Again. Just stay close to God by reading the Bible regularly, praying regularly, going to church regularly, and by doing what you can to help others find Jesus!

It's not that you did it once, it's that you're repenting daily, and believing and strengthening your faith through prayer and His word. Do you hate the sin you once loved, because it hurt Him? Do you love and seek, and hunger to do righteous works, and live with integrity before His eyes? You must believe that when God has said "Whoever believes in Me has eternal life" that He can't lie, and is faithful to His promises!

@artthefarter Good deeds and living a good life, in and of themselves, will NOT get you to heaven! The Bible tells us that our own attempts at being righteous, are only "filthy rags" (an exact quote from the Bible). Jesus, himself, said in the Bible that unless a person becomes Born Again, he CANNOT see the Kingdom of God. This simply means that ONLY Born Again people will be in heaven! Absolutely we are to do good deeds AFTER we become Born Again. Any good deeds we did before this is nothing!

The Bible tells us that when a person becomes Born Again, that God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit come to live inside our spirit, and that they actually recreate our human spirits, and make them brand new! All of your past sins are forgiven, and you get the opportunity to start your spiritual walk with God, totally clean and pure! There's no other way to obtain this, according to the Bible!

@artthefarter After a person is Born Again, his desires for the things of the world will diminish, and his thirst for, interest in, and desire for the things of God will increase! The Bible says that old things have passed away, and everything becomes new! Also your spirit, before being Born Again is like dead and dormant to the things of God - sort of like it is "turned off" to the things of God.

You can look at heaven also, like this - God doesn't want anyone in heaven who is "turned off" to Him, would you? @AppleFreakish Go read Revelation 3, where it indicates that it is possible for a Born Again person to have their name erased from the Book of Life. It wouldn't even mention it if it were not possible, right? The Bible says about itself, that there are no idle words in it! So, the way I think it works is that if a person becomes backslidden to the point where he no longer feels any draw at all from the Holy Spirit, to come back to God, then that is when he has had his name erased.

@AppleFreakish As long as a person who is backslidden, still feels the drawing and the need to come back to Jesus, and he can still bring himself to ask for forgiveness for all his sins since he started backsliding, then God will welcome him back! The key is whether or not that person would go to heaven, if he were to die, while in his backslidden state - I don't think he would, because I think his name would be erased from the Book of Life at the moment of his death, because he never repented.
