When I first saw the dolls as presented by Terry I was in awe. That was such a wonderful portrayal of Zip and Ginger. Now seeing the process behind the creation, like from the skullbones outward, is truly amazing! You did a very beautiful job. I see that others, notably oneiblind30 and WaltonThomas66 also

wowie...totally amazing! I love art...any kind of art, so I was very impressed with this..and even more amazed you used Sculpey. I have used it before, though not in years but struggled with it. Maybe they have improved it since I last used it. Did you take classes to do this or does it just come naturally?

I only use sculpy for the armature of the head. I use a stronger,firmer, and more expensive clay for the face. Have not taken classes. Just had an urge to pick up some clay about 10 years ago, and when I followed it, a little person appeared in my hands.

Oh I see..well that makes more sense. Makes sense too that you start out with a skull first too then build on it..that is how they do it in Forensic science...though usually they have the actual skull and build on that to get an idea of the feature to figure out who the person was. Anyway most sculptors that I have seen do not start out like that. They go in and try shaping the face off an oval ball usually.

I started out doing it that way, but found that the pressure of the facial sculpting would ruin the head shape. I like my current method better for a number of reasons.

Oh yes..building up instead of taking away and forcing the clay is a excellent idea. Do you have your model baked after its done? I do not have a talent like this at all..wouldn't matter if it was the world's most expensive clay either, so I admire your work here very much. I am just amazed by it..

I can imagine sculpting larger pieces is difficult enough, but to work in miniature and get such detail is just incredible! The video is only 10 min., how long did it actually take to produce the doll?

OUTSTANDING. VERY creative and detailed. You should belong to one of the many Polymer Clay groups or societies if you don't already. Your work is wonderful and I KNOW Zip loved it. What you should have done is cast each piece and created silicone molds so you could do a KIT in resin and sell them. I'd have bought one for sure. Awesome.
