We get that a lot being on a pseudo-Christian label (Tooth & Nail) but no we are not a Christian band" so no, they are not trying to make people think about God..they just enjoy inspiring and happy music, unlike 90% of other bands out there
@oblivx yeah, I do know that only three out of the five members are Christians, it's just been my hunch Matt still isn't ashamed to write somE songs about his faith for a reason. That's just the way I look at it. Just making people do a double take at what any of their lyrics are about, that's what they achieve and I appreciate that.

Religion with a love of jesus doesnt necessarily have to exist to be a christian. Religion is based on traditions passed through generations of our ancestors interpretations of what God wants us to do. Religion can easily turn into routine...meaning you are just going through the motions. If people wish to give up "religion" to serve God through the love of Christ in different ways...more power to them. Its the relationship you build personally with Christ that counts.

I know a lot of Christians that will opt to listen to Christian music over all. It is blatantly obvious that this band is Christian. Alluding to biblical excerpts is one thing, but that on top of nauseating positivity/inspirational themes and imagery pretty much turns the dead horse into paste. Does anybody else see some biblical relations in this song? The first verse says we deserve hell but we have the power to change that. The chorus says that God is always with us and heaven can be just right around the corner. 2nd verse says we can defeat hell with the power of God. The 3rd verse is like the parable of Peter walking on the water but then turning from Jesus and drowning.

Wow...i've been listening to this album nonstop for the past couple weeks, and i recently missed a concert they played at, so I came on here to see what I missed out on...I am sad to say I was very dissapointed...they were not very good.
Dang sad to hear that. Listen to some of their other new stuff. It's pretty awesome, and a little more rock solid then this. This song is a lighter beat which changes some of their sounds...

Religion with a love of jesus doesnt necessarily have to exist to be a christian. Religion is based on traditions passed through generations of our ancestors interpretations of what God wants us to do. Religion can easily turn into routine...meaning you are just going through the motions. If people wish to give up "religion" to serve God through the love of Christ in different ways...more power to them. Its the relationship you build personally with Christ that counts.

"I couldn't stop my reaction. . so I let it come" I love this line SOOO much. It makes me think of when I do embarrasing things or something I wish I could change and I'm sitting in my room alone. I always react by chuckling or flinching thinking about moments like those and sometimes I wish I didn't. Hearing this song makes me think " Yeah, I knew I would react like that so let it come, it's normal and it's alright." . . . I know the song has a much deeper but I wantd to comment about that line

if the band members are christian, then al that they do would to glorify God.
Yeshua is a Reality in their lives so don't start saying that you just sing about the brokenness of human life when brokeness is obviously the REALITY...
Sounds like by the words of their mouth, this band has denied Jesus himself.

It's worth mentioning that since last album, The Classic Crime has officially stated that they are not "exclusively" a Christian band. Yet it's also clear that faith and spirituality still play significant parts in the themes and song lyrics. MacDonald even notes that the album title dates back to the Old Testament in reference to the fragility of life. The album deals with the struggles and harsh realities of the human condition.

I don't see why the Christian entertainment industry has to mirror the secular entertainment industry though. Figure out something original with a Christian theme and the secular world might not scoff at the Christian entertainment industry as much as it does.

I know a lot of Christians that will opt to listen to Christian music over all. It is blatantly obvious that this band is Christian. Alluding to biblical excerpts is one thing, but that on top of nauseating positivity/inspirational themes and imagery pretty much turns the dead horse into paste. This is fucking garbage regardless though. I won't not listen to something just because it has religious overtones, but this is too much. Complete ChrisRadio tripe. Fucking garbage.

All my close friends and family are super christians, they go to church 4 times a week and fast. Right now my sister is fasting tv and non christian music. I personally think.... maybe God is just a thought. He's a great thought :D

Does anybody else see some biblical relations in this song? The first verse says we deserve hell but we have the power to change that. The chorus says that God is always with us and heaven can be just right around the corner. 2nd verse says we can defeat hell with the power of God. The 3rd verse is like the parable of Peter walking on the water but then turning from Jesus and drowning.

most of the time, 'emo' bands play a genre where the lyrics are usualy very angsty, so its not really emo music thats angsty, its the geren, post hardcore...but emo's not even a genre anymore, since theres pop punk emo bands
