She is telling lies! Her org has sponsored a TV video in the UK telling people that toy airsoft pistols are being converted to fire live ammo. It shows children killing eachother (complete with gory CGI) while only wanting to play. These people are an offshoot from the criminal million mom march. You guessed it, they are now petitioning in support of the "fairness" doctrine. They are complaining about the NRA having an internet web show that doesnt feature equal air time to their activists. They have made similar complaints against Larry Pratts Gun Owners of America sponsored radio show. They dont seem to like any portion of the constitution. They can afford every major TV station, and they pay for international TV ads in dozens of nations.

Illegal guns? Guns aren't illegal, bad behavior, taking the rights away from others is illegal. Don't impose more gun laws. Criminals will not follow them, like they won't follow existing laws. Most people in PA who are pro-gun also agree that more effective laws will help police track illegal guns -- this is about getting guns away from criminals, not law-abiding gun owners.

Straw purchases are already monitored by the ATF, sheriff department, and all other state and local police. The police already know who these people are. As soon as these straw purchases have been made the gun store has at most 24 hours or sooner to contact the local authority along with the ATF. Most states will only issue 5 gun permits at a time. The only way to purchase more than this amount is to possess a concealed handgun permit. Or in atleast north Carolina where my home is.

@MomsAgainstGuns hmm you know they did in DC right? and the crime rate went up so did the gun violence right? now hold on a minute here for one guns manufactured today are traceable they have serial numbers on them for the police to trace. they run it through a computer and find the store owner who sold it that store owner is required to release the purchasers information. if a criminal chooses to scratch the serial off the gun or disguise its origin how will license and registration help trace?

@MomsAgainstGuns it makes little sense to me to force a perfectly qualified law abiding citizen who undergoes a background check and passes. to file for a license in order to keep his weapon on the basis that it will help trace criminal activity and stop illegal gun transfers from happening? gun-store owners are required to hold transfer records of firearms purchased. these records can be easily obtained if the police can identify the weapon's serial. how does a registry and piece of paper help?

Yes, there's something we can do. Start up a fund drive to collect money for materials and enlist volunteers to get gallows built on the steps of city hall. Then form lynch mobs whenever a murderer is convicted. Then put those gallows to proper use. Leave the corpse hanging there for a while. Have pictures of the hanged plastered on billboards all over town at no charge from the billboard owners, just like they did for "Moms against guns". Let the billboard captions say, "THIS WAS A MURDERER".

OK, I went to the "Moms against Guns" website. Read and reasearched through the information available. Looked into the information available on the people they have allied themselves with and the long range goals of them all. My conclusion is that this group is just another supporter of "gun grab" politics. Useing feel good legislation that will only affect the LAwful CItizen and take away our right to defend ourselves agains those who would do us harm. What they propose only helps criminals.

Ariadne404: Yes, we believe that updating our gun laws to close loop holes exploited by gun traffickers will help to dramatically reduce gun deaths. Gun traffickers (without a criminal record) can now "legally" buy several handguns each month. They then sell the handguns to someone who could not otherwise get it (someone with a criminal record or someone too young to buy). This is called a straw purchase. Limiting the number decreases the amount of guns on the street. Thanks for your comment.

You can never stop straw purchases. A person is commiting a fellony by re selling a handgun without a background check what difference does it make if it is 1 or 10 it is already illegal!

Some are even Manufactured illegally, the M1911 is manufactured easily with the right tools and jigs.

Keep criminals and the insane from owning guns? Sure. Stop illegal gun trafficking? Absolutely. Increase the penalties for committing a gun crime? No argument here. But the second you bring up gun registration and permits for owning a gun you are political poison and a threat to our liberty.
