He's been my favorite player since I was 8 and I just continue to realize just how awesome he is! I watched the game he tied Lou in and it was amazing how excited everybody in the staduim was. Even more exciting was the next day when he passed Lou Gehrig. Amazing.

Jeters well respected now, but I don't think his accomplishments will truly be felt until the years after he retires.. what he's been doing is so rare, that we might not even see it again as yankee fans. its a nice goal to get to being the all time Yankees hits later, not to take anything away from Jeter but I feel the media took this way overboard with the coverage, its not like he got to 3,000,,, no other team celebrates there all time hits leaders.. Look at Stan Musial, he had 3630 hits all with the cardinals and Cobb had about 4,000 with the Tigers. Its a nice acheivement but it was made to something bigger than what it should have been
