Meh, I tend to like a pseudo retraux myself. use the resolution and color restraints, and the old sound boards, but then use more RAM and allow more sound channels.

I mean, if it were an actual NES game, you couldn't play extra or lunatic, because a lot of the danmaku would flicker or even stay invisible the whole time.
