@starchmonkey see, just because a number of people believe a certain thing, doesnt mean that they're necessarily just following. believe it or not, it is possible for different people to arrive at a certain conclusion individually, then become friends later, partially drawn to each other by their shared beliefs. sure, most religons arent exactly a good example of this, and SOME of the members may very well have simply followed the others, but it is offensive that you'd assume such a stupid thing

I believe that there is a being that could be called a "god" that created us, but I remain unconvinced that any major religion isn't full of shit. As for cops, their just a uniform, and not the main problem, it's the laws put in place that they enforce that are the problem, if you get mad, you don't attack the puppet, you go for the puppeteer.

The soldiers, police, and other elements of the forces of repression tend to split during a revolution, some supporting the masses, some standing by their capitalist masters. Look at Syria...the state repression has led to thousands deserting the police force and military to create a "free army" which is protecting the masses from the regime.
