@alonsocore in general against rufus seth is more even. rufus hits hard and has a lot of options to get around stuff sim can do. seth is a bit more safe and hits harder. you will find that with a lot of pros will have an alt just for certain match-ups. and if you go into a match and your opponent expects you to play one character but you play another kinda throws off their strategy. at least thats my opinion as to why he chose seth over sim

As a Abel player, im happy he is getting nerfed, because i main'd abel since vanilla and worked my way up. But since ssf4 a lot of abel players have surfaced and they are just TERRIBLE and its mostly because of breathless or "skilless" as its been called lately...so yeah im pretty psyched about this.

@SottleRedux having an spd doesn't mean that character's mix up is good. seth's spd does shit damage and has shit range except for lp version. seth's mix up is only exceptional in the corner.

seth's wake up options out of the corner are this:

SPD, Normal Grab, poke or just block.

how is that better than any mix up by a character such as ibuki, c.viper, abel, cammy, rufus? it really isn't...

seth is a defensive character with some nice mix up potential in the corner and shitty health.

@mrnacj you forgot: Headstomp (admittedly much better choice in the corner), Jump Back Fierce, Fireball Tick, Fireball FADC Teleport, Crossup, Fake Crossup Divekick etc, etc.

I agree, in the majority of situations, just blocking and taking the damage from an SPD is your best option, but you can't do that all day. He has way more options than the characters you listed.

There's nothing wrong with Seth, I don't see why people complain about him. His mixups are hard to initiate, his ultras are good but have minimal damage. His damage output is very low.

His HEALTH. You have to play Seth PERFECTLY in order for him to be effective. One DP FADC ultra and he loses a good 50-60% compared to others 35-40.
