@MommyBird10 You could buy a crotch rocket, it would be faster, but it would not look as good. But then beauty is in the eye of the beholder. With this you'd be different, with an old crotch rocket you would have an old crotch rocket and just blend in with all the rest.

steering dampeners on these bikes do make a difference, especially with clubman bars, you can smack the tank quick with the bars. The short wheelbase, smaller than modern tires, and heavier unsprung weight of oldschool drum brakes and steel wheels as compared to the weight of the bike and rider all make the dampener worth its weight in gold on a bumpy turn.....note that I have one on mine.

I'd like to c it to believe it. Not saying it isn't possible with proper engine mods and weight reduction. Soo whats the hp recorded at on the dyno?

@hull293 these bikes can reach 85+ with some time and effort. I'm in process of rebuilding 1 myself and the guys at the dyno place believe after I rebuild the engine I should be able to hit 90 (straightline with no significant wind) Before I tore it down I had it up to 80 or so without any significant work on it. Can't wait to get er done.

@Jakesofa i can hit 103 or so, gps checked... overbore, tuned intake length with custom airbox, tuned exhaust length, proper port job, electronic ignition, mikuni VM30s. tucked in like hell and screaming around 9500 rpm, but she did it.

sweet looking cafe, I have a 71 and they are a blast. The see-through frame rocks, I have a headlight/tailight and positive drain 12v system, and was torn about putting it in as I had to give up the 'window' for the battery. Looking great. enjoy.
