señores mis respeto a todos los practicante de shito ryu, espero pronto volver a practicar, esta es una muestra de lo mucho que se ama al karate, sensei antonio numero 1 del ranking mundial.
Tsuguo Sakumoto's Annan kata is believable. I do not like Diaz's stances and what really gets to me is his Mae geri. As though it tried to say: Hey, grab me an throw me to the floor.
At times, his heels are off the ground when it appears that they should not be. Watch his rear heel when he moves through the Sanchin steps. Additionally, there were times when he stepped "heel first" as opposed to "ball to heel".
To my perspective, this puts Mr. Diaz slightl;y off-balance or (to put it another way) he is not "rooted" or "taking power from the floor" when appropriate thus giving the appearance of a weaker koshi.
it's true, but valdesi has a better control of body's movements in general. However in shito ryu there are more circular movements of hands, but this depends by the style and not by the athlet.
he practices goju ryu but only the shitei kata not the traditional ones... I bet that if he knows sanchin kata from goju ryu no one has ever meassured him
Antonio Diaz looks to be a shito-ryu practionner (correct me if it's not the correct answer) and Luca Valdesi is a shotokan practionner. This is why his stances are lower.
thanks for that. I didnt realise Shito-ryu had a higher shiko-datchi stance. Most i have seen do annan drop into a nice low shiko-datchi and low nekoashi-dacthi.
Diaz is very sharp though. I saw him compete in finland at the 06 world titles. All his kata are rock solid
shiko dachi is the same height, though shotokan doesn't make extensive use of it. front stance is higher in shitoryu, they also make use of sanchin dachi, whereas shotokan has a low front stance and very little sanchin. also nekoashi dachi in shito ryu is replace by kokutsudachi or back stance in shotokan.
shito ryu does have higher stances but as a athlete in this level of compition he should be lower to beat some one like valdessi who does do shotokan karate but any way nice kata!!!
Did you just claim you are better then Antonio Diaz? If so the get lost you idiot. Antonio is world class. If you think your better then why dont you compete? loser.
If you were like this when you were 14, well how old are you now? I am sure you must be so good that WKF don't want you to compete because it will be too ridiculous for the others competitors. I'll be very proud to see your videos and to claim that you are able to have that much of explosiveness and flexibility at the same time.

not really if you look at his pulling hand. ;)

Antonio Diaz is actually not Shito Ryu, eventhough Shito Ryu is big in Venezuela. Rather he is a Goju Ryu practitioner.
goplatinumrglez 4 years ago
Antonio practices Shito Ryu but he knows kata from every stile so he knows how high any stance has to be but he started practicin at a Shito Ryu dojo
FranciscoCerrada 4 years ago
You right. He began Training in SHito-ryu then he also learned some Goju-ryu Kata and also he trained Kata like Anan under Tsugo Sakumoto

Diaz is awesome. But he doesnt get in the low stances like valdesi, so he can beat everyone but him.
that said, would love to do kata like this

Quite true. His front kicks look a bit heavy on the retraction phase.
Robbie0415768067 4 years ago 2
He needs to make his mae geri's snap back, they looked week and they just fell straight forward.
Good though
Bluntphilly 4 years ago
You are right, no real retraction on the front kick... needs to have a twang in it...

pull your head out of your ass. Do you realise how much work goes into competition kata? I can tell by your arrogence that you know nothing about it.
The reason you would be embarrassed to do this in front of people is probably because you are crap.
I think alot of people will agree with me.
