@purplegill10 yeah, Mirage Island is a true feature in the official game. To get there, you have to get lucky. Every day (to get to Mirage Island), the game will randomly choose a IDnr and if one of your pokemon matches that number, you can access it. Some say it has to do with the lottery corner in Lilycove City. I sadly never got there.

my first shiny was the the red gyrados. that is how unlucky i am. i only found three more after and they were a geodude from the safari zone, a drowzee i found but i didn't save and i lost it, and my last one was a cottonee from BW that i had been looking for one and i found this one. i also lost the geodude, but i still have the cottenee in my white version. i have others but they were from my friend's action replay for BW. :(

@hawkeymaniac92 No, Shiny Pokemon were introduced in Generation 2, they have sense then made an appearance in every following generation sense then. The method of obtaining a Shiny Pokemon changed from Gen2 though. Pokemon with high IVs were shiny in G,S,C. But in ever game Gen3 and beyond, shinyness is determined by a personality value. Look up the DPPT Chainning method or Masuda method.

Mirage island is not fake. It's in the official Pokemon Emerald guide book. Every day (Game days) You will have to put different types of pokemon in a specific order in your party to trigger Mirage Island. (It is random) If you actually GET the random order, you can consider yourself lucky. If you have Pokemon Emerald, try to clone glitch all of the berries you find there.

@SeekerForViolence You know that your comment is stupid. Honestly I can say that because you don't even need to necessarily make the comment. Some people enjoy different coloration of things. I personally bother trying to get this shiny because it's the first Pokemon displayed in the bag which when you soft reset the game at the beginning of the bag with the pokeballs in it you can just reset if you don't have a shiny. It's time consuming but worth it eventually.
