Teutonic Thrash is basically the German Thrash that happens to be more extreme. Avenger of Blood may not be German... but they are inspired from the style.

I'd say it's more of a style of a sub genre. Yes, it's Thrash Metal. Nobody is going to flip out and say "NOO IT"S TEUTONIC THRASH"

@130JV I wouldn't call them sub-genres exactly...more like different styles. I certainly don't differentiate between Teutonic Thrash, Bay Area Thrash, New York Thrash etc...I label them all Thrash. Though within each region there are varying styles which are noticeable if you're an avid Thrash listener. Thats why an American band can play a Teutonic style of Thrash or a German band can play a Bay Area style of Thrash. Just stylistic differences is all, not sub-genres.

@666deathghost Teutonic Thrash is WINNING when it comes to brutality. Brazilian Thrash is close but I just think Germany has produced far more better brutal Thrash acts. Bay Area Thrash owns all in my opinion, even if its not the most brutal of the bunch, it wins for not being afraid to push boundries and experiment, not to mention the genesis of Thrash took place mostly in the Bay Area. Also I think the Bay Area produced more classic albums than Brazil or Germany.
