  • what bitch???

  • Fast Bettle

  • Yep, I could not agree more ..... Good Call, "He's on A Run.

  • 1971 my pop was running a 1965 VW beetle at MissionRaceway(dot)com in the high 10's low 11's.

  • and i bet the beetle was naturally aspirated too

  • which engine betttle use please replay ?

  • Wow! Frigg'n awesome!

  • Whats really bad is it looks like it's all stock too... haha. Nice Beetle

  • LOL!!!!

  • isn't that a gtr next to it, or maybe a 240sx it docent look like a Subaru

  • It's not a car !!! It's a Bettle !!! no car can match it

  • I know subaru fans can accept a subaru lost to an old bugs ... ADMIT IT !! BETTLE TYPE 1 IS THE BEST, well give me from when to when each of subaru ver in production ?? 2-3 years maybe, well bettle type 1 is from 1939 to 2003, if you put a subaru and a volkswagen side by side and wait for atleast 1 years, you can see subaru turn into a rusty old fucking car but bettel still glorious and even you can start it engine (if you put some oil)

  • fucking people always think oh subaru's are so great ra ra ra weather that bug had a differant engine in or not it still shit all over it hahahahaha

  • hey porsche won a few le mans race years with there 917/AIR COOLED POWER they were so fast there cars got banned, its all on here-look it up.

  • Could easily be air cooled if you don't know shit about them don't post your opinion

  • i love listening to people at shows say "no way thats a vw motor!" and apparently it happens here too. do a little research guys. vw motors have been known to put down 300hp. it doesnt take a v8 to run 10 second 1/4 miles. and its cheaper with a vw too. :D

  • how much horse power that wv have ?

  • BOXER POWER!!!

  • Subarus sound like vw beetles because the STi didnt exsist in the 60's when people began tuning cars like beetles... VW FTW

  • @hunterziegelmann Thanks for setting me straight father time, I thought the suby sound was because they have an unequal exhaust header.

  • That subaru wasnt standard either. Its has what looks like a bigger front mounted intercooler and the headlight removed which suggests a uprated airbox or induction kit, unless it just fell out. The Beetle, the faster, the rattyer the better for me. I love my 71 beetle its not that fast though.....yet ha ha my mate has a wrx i feel a race coming on.

  • dude..... never underestimate what yo can do with an old school bug. look up the red baron vwsedan. he runs a 1/4 in under 10seconds topping out at 174mph. lets see pro mod subaru top that.

  • @Tdenton93 search it... youtube username: Crystal Imprezav. I beleive he's got some 9s posted. It's not exactly "pro mod" (I'm not really sure what that means). This dude does build his engines in his kitchen so I think that is "old school" or redneck, maybe both...

  • That poor worked up Subbie just got done by old school engineering and yes its a 4 cylinder flat four vw engine

  • @benito626 with carburators!

  • My mate had a big carbed / cammed '69 2180cc that'd smoke most cars on the road. Always fun vs rednecks at traffic lights in their V8's.......

  • Fake Fake =P =P subaru is the best ='(

  • @MrDankeL In denial are we?

  • @SonicthePlumber sorry i'm french and the traductor english --> french told me anything what I meant was that I madein the subiste (subaru fanboy = P) and all laughing subaru could not be beaten by a bettle but do not worry I know very well that nothing maintenance starting a bettle sorry if it's still not very understandable but I'm not English:)

  • am happy cuz i own a bug XD

  • Beetles can have a turbo with out having a subaru engine in them. They make turnkey turbo VW aircooled motors.

  • Subaru got it's technologie from Porsche the beetle is the first porsche.

I like the idea of Subaru using the flat four and AWD.

But they are such a overerly screaming cars.

Simply said they are unethical ugly designed.

U buy a Subaru to get as cheaply impressive specs there is no more in it.

German cars (Mercedes,BMW,AUDI,VW) stay representive no matter what is under the hood.

    That's what i call style

  • its all about that power to weight ratio

  • Sounds like a Gene Berg motor. I ate a lot of the Zots candy he used to send in the boxes of parts.

  • That Dak Dak flies.

  • I love the sound of the beetle

  • jap shit

  • German Power ------> Asian

  • LOL !! this is the beetle from hell !!

  • these make good dune buggys with proper suspention mods and a rollcage

  • @Italianporkchop um, dipshit, the 22b was an sti model, and a damn special, rare one at that. It had a factory widebody kit and all manner of performance goodies. This one is clearly not such a car.

  • @25tab Actually the 22-B is not as fast as the STi, so dont run your mouth like you know what your talking about.. However, the 22B is the earlier form of what is NOW the STi, but only the STi has more H.P. and T.Q. and other things that the 22B did not have. And Im not the dipshit, you are! Next time before running your mouth, think before you even write anything so you dont look like an asshole.

  • @Italianporkchop i never said the 22b was faster, but you decided to take off on that...way to look smart, fucktard. Enjoy the failboat.

  • wow...your idiocy knows no limits. Clearly, i am way out of my depth with such an expert as you...Just kidding, you're still wrong.

  • That must have a porsche engine in there as no VW engine intended for rear wheel drive application can do that.

  • @crxdelsolsir type in Chirco in the search bar. they make them. based off the vw engine. and fyi...a porsche engine is a vw engine. only its a 6 instead of a 4. vw has been around longer.

  • wow, u have no idea

2.5 liter vw bus motors stroked cammed and carbed for dirt cheap does 7 secs all day

learn ur shit before u let ur idiot shit out

    peace

  • @hakkasci

Thats no factory fitted original rear engine for the beetle not is it.

They didnt have that shit when they first made them.

Fitting an engine just because it fits is not original. Looser

  • @hakkasci

When i said "VW engine intended for rear wheel drive application " i meant an original engine manufactured from the vw factory for the beetle, not a modified vw engine".

An aftermarket tuning shop or fitting a bus engine is not stock, factory intended or oem. Thats what i meant.

  • Do explain. I'm very interested in getting a bug and wanted to make it a great car without speding too much. .

  • i love beetles n vw cars!

  • has to be said for all the subaru fans who think beetles suck volkswagen beetle 1 subaru erm 0

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

  • @MrM4ttyf Put enough money into any car in the world and it'll win.

  • Fuck ya

  • does exist, all aftermarket products. yes expensive and yes does not last to long!

you need this type of power to run mid sixes(vw paradise!)

  • WHAT HAPPEND........to all the ricers how does germany dust taste?

  • read my comments properly KNOB! i do know what i am talking about as i build the fucking things!! have been for the last 25 years!can get up to 900hp from 3000 cc's

even more depending on boost and fuel!!!!

    God sakes!! morons

And to add, a bug like this (video) would simply be awesome to drive in streets, blow away anything on four wheels within 100-150 meters and that is what it is all about!!!

  • I have driven many "fast" cars, but they are boring. There is something really appealing about a Beetle like this and I wish I had the knowledge to build one!

A friend restored a Beetle and can't go anywhere without people leaving notes on it asking them to call if he wants to sell it! Who needs a Subaru, get a Beetle.

  • a 900hp 3.0 bug motor? even if that did exist it would be ungodly expensive and self destruct in one pass.

I'm not downing bugs, I've been into them as far back as I can remember. I rebuild my first motor when I was 14, I'm just saying. your numbers don't add up.

  • a legess legdurvább párosítás

  • suck on that you pussy ass bitch

  • Very sick! Love to drive it in a city, where other moron drivers would unsuspect this bug to be as hell of an animal!

  • Bugs make great power with turbo's! I have seen 500 + hp from 2400 cc motors.

just because a bug has no radiator ( see comment from cicatricesdt!). N ormally aspirated can be stretched to almost 300 hp. Quickest bug have seen runs 8.34 on 1/4 mile (turbo obviously!)

  • 500+ from a 2400, because they have no radiator hahahahahhahahahaha

  • some of you are bloody lame retards! If you have no idea of what you're on about, keep out! Can't turbo a bug because no radiator!!Moron!!

  • hahaha! are you quite sure? I know of plenty turbo'd bugs

  • is it an expensive mod? I have a 1600 twinport sat in the garage i wonder how much it would cost to get a turbo on it and set it up.

  • Comment removed

  • Rest in pieces Carlsbad Raceway, and by the way... the volkswagen was running without a turbo... the subaru was

  • lol subaru didnt even take off :D

  • N/A Impreza? no mods? no dumbass go play gran turizmo for another 8 hours

  • I've seen some great drags with bugs, even saw a t2 camper do a 10 second quater mile! ok, so he had a 3.5l v8 from a TVR or something, but still damned impressive

  • With the proper knowledge and parts you can beat just about any car with a VW.

The power to weight ratio is what makes a VW such a good little dragster. that and all the weight is in the rear so you have the weight of the engine sitting directly on top of the rear tires, in turn you have better traction for quick jumps off the line.

  • N/A Impreza with probably hardly any mods vs. a track car. Yeah, that's a good measure of speed.

  • Comment removed

  • jelous?

  • y u keep saying n/a hear the blow off @ 14 17

  • not saying anything about the subaru but im pretty sure that most vws use turbo too

  • Comment removed

  • you are also retarted you can turbo a bug easy

  • Wow, you should definitely refrain from posting about anything mechanically related on you~tube or anywhere else for that matter. I hate the widespread of BULLSH!T on the internet from ppl who don't know what they're talking about. You can put a turbo on an aircooled motor no problem. Has nothing at all to do with a rad unless it's a watercooled turbo in which you simply don't use the water inlet or outlet.

  • are you kidding me, there are a few vw's that use turbos but most of them can't get the boost up right away and they dog it at the line, my ghia runs 10:32E/T no turbo no nos no power adders it smokes big blocks with nos any day of the week, hands um there ass,

  • haha good point

  • Sounds like a bug engine too me. I had a built one in the 80's.

  • why does that bug not sound anything like a vw motor?

are you running a subaru engine!!?

    cheater...

  • it's not my car but i can tell you that it's not a subaru engine, it's only a normally aspirated vw motor. No need for turbo to smoke subaru with a beetle

  • ill admit that vw is bad but as a subaru enthusiast myself taking a early 90's impreza is not that impressive. now a new sti that would be something.

  • maybe !

and i agree with you, this beetle is highly modified and is fast only on a quarter mile. Not more

  • @Fred1302 that bug sounds like its got a Subbie motor in it lol... subbie vs subbie just one has the body of a bug...

  • @Fred1302S Impressive in the fact that the engine design is old as hell. The design of the entire car in fact.

  • @tomp45 especially considering the platform didn't change from 1938 to 2003.

  • still wouldnt beet a beetle tho would it?

that vw is probably not the fastest drag bug out there anyway, drag bugs destroy everything, i would like to see the new sti get destroyed by a bug, and "early nineties" is no excuse that bug is what 1970-1974ish.

  • yea your right for probly different heads, crank pistons, bored cylinders and most definatly a different carb set up its pretty badass for 70's. :P

  • @rpholz

Why, are Classics not considered to be quick then? do you even know the spec of that Impreza? I'll give you a quick comparison, 0-60 for a 1999 Type R is 4.5 seconds, and 4.7 seconds for a 2009 Impreza STi, get my drift?

People can say what they like, that lil' bug is very, very quick! and that's coming from someone with a huge soft spot for Imprezas! go go go, lil' VeeDub! :-)

  • @rpholz i heard somewhere that originally subaru copied the VW engine early on in their brumby (brat) and 4x4 wagons.

i still dont like subaru lol

  • @rpholz The new sti's suck. 2005ish was when it was happening.

  • @Fred1302S maybe cause a gutted beetle weighs less than half as much as the suby lol but id put a turbo on it just to see how fast it would be XD

  • @rpholz no hes not cheating when you have a REAL motor in a vw like say for example probably what this bug has, high compression, 2387cc with most likely a vz series cam. maybe an fk but i doubt it. but it probably has big carbs most likely 48 IDAs. you are probably one of hte guys he would make look like a fool because you just see a bug. its what you dont see that counts chief good luck

  • @rpholz that car really looks like lee gong's car, which is a 11 second street beetle. it has an 2.3 liter vw engine, with 230hp.

  • @rpholz ya thats what a aircooled vw engine sounds like with no muffler at 8,000 rpm

  • @rpholz its not a vw engine for sure, they cant make engines that good or even close to that

  • dude those bugs have already beaten skylines, supras, ferraris etc to win against a subaru is nothing

  • one day my bug will do that

  • wow!! good job your heavily modified beatle can beat an impreza.

  • i want a voltwagan beetle bad,but i cant find any :( for cheap

  • Respect VW

  • Only if my Beetle could do that..

  • ese pinche vocho no se handa con mamadas

  • Thats the real HERBIE!!!!!

  • That VeeDub absolutely SLAYED the Subaru. Awesome!

  • take that wrx hahahahaha

  • What you have to remember is even though u say its a pretty low down subaru, the beetle is drivin with 60s technology nout different apart from the engine, so respect to the beetle, the better car won!

  • hahaha vw rules :)

  • First of all the Subaru 2.5 RS puts down 165HP. Second the car in the video was a 2.0L Turbo, with a fair share of aftermarket add ons because it's alot faster than your average 2.0L Turbo (Stock 208hp, I estimate it has 250-275hp) take note of the front mount intercooler when they came from the factory with the top mount which is uneffective after a certain amount of hp (350 I beleive for that top mount) but the car did not seem that fast. VW is ALL MOTOR, NO SPRAY.

  • below 500hp, a subaru can go home with a beetle like this one.

  • yes but all that was done with out computers. like the other guy said, 60s technology.

  • ajjajajajaja muy bueno

  • See? Rear wheel drive give better traction.

  • MAN SHES SOUNDS AND RUNS LIKE A BEAST.

  • tj

this car is not mine so i don't know for the trans and gear ratio. My 1302S is a gold one running the 1/4mile in 14.62s @154km/h with a 2276 kadronized and little heads 37x35.5

  • classic vee dub power!!! respect 2 it (vw)

  • wot enggine is that man !!! i want that in my polo

  • that's a flat4 engine 2276cc big carburetors. vw just flies low

  • Respect teh bettle.

  • german engineering in da haus. lol
