I feel like such an idiot, haven't been running BF3 on Ultra with my 6950 (all settings 6970 apart from RAM timings) because I thought it couldn't do it. I just started looking at the specs on some of these BF3 vids and it turns out I can :)
@mrftothek Hey :) Yeah, you'll be fine :D I turned AA off because at 1920 x 1080 it makes very little difference and a difference you won't notice while playing. It also eats your framerate away !
@billy78601 You'll be able to play BF3 at ULTRA settings no problem, I have a similar setup aside from I'm running a Phenom II X4 :)) Games should be easier to run in the future as software will be better optimised, so you will be fine for quite some time. You can always upgrade your graphics card every 2 years or so :)
@SingHouse Ummm, I'm not too sure about ULTRA settings and smooth frame rate, but it could be alright. Just I don't think you'll be getting anything above 50FPS. By the way, which GTX 570 is it? is it a stock reference one?
@billy78601 I would go for a higher wattage PSU something like a 750W/ 800W and a branded one too. What are the full specs you'll be using? such as number of hard drives, disk drives, RAM and would you be overclocking (I'm guessing so hence the water cooling)
It's hard to say, but I'm taking a guess at a good few years. I was running a Phenom II X4 with a 4890 for 2 years and could max everything (besides Crysis and battlefield 3)
Awesome, a video showing off Battlefield 3 Ultra settings! Shame this was made before the game was released and ultra didn't fucking exist lol. epic fail.
@MegaParrotMan Yes, well I can't post gameplay footage before the game is out can I? The best I (and everyone else) is to post gameplay from the beta. At least there is people like me to post gameplay online for FREE for you guys to watch. Anyways, there will be a TONNE of videos to watch when the full game is released (Y)
@blingblingbling420 U MAD BRO? nahhh man just kidding. I didn't think you could record with FRAPS and show the fps at the same time? :s can you tell me how? I get around 65 - 70 fps if you wanted to know :)
@waackomann Well basically fraps will slow down your pc up to 40%. What you want to do is record the game with a camera on a tripod while fraps is running so we can see your fps while your not recording. If you don't have a camera, you can record with fraps while having it show your fps overlay in the video. The other solution is bandicam which has a lesser impact on your computer depending on the game and more hd options.
IM GOING TO BUY GRAPHICS CARD FOR THIS GAME. WELL I HEARD PEOPLE SAYING INTEL CPU S FITS BETTER WITH NVIDIA'S. AMD CPU S FITS BETTER WITH AMD CARDS. IS THAT TRUE? AL THOUGH IS PHYSX GONNA SUPPORT THIS GAME? SOME1 ANSWER ME PLS
It looks beautiful, but I'm not a fan of the game. They killed the Battlefield name by making it more like BC2/MoH. I was really hoping to see it be more like BF2 (which was, and still is, freakin' amazing.)
So, just curious, what do you do with your old PC Parts?
@KCsCloud Yeah :/ all the classics seems to be dying out to compete with the "New" FPS style (*cough...* basically Modern Warfare 2 ..) I remember when Call of Duty was actually a World War II game that rocked :D anywayss, Yeah it does look very very good :)
I usually give them to friends or sell them really cheap prices to peeps I know :) I gave my old card to a friend until he can buy a new one :D sometimes I keep stuff as backups
Will I be able to play BF3 on maximum settings with these specs:
CPU: AMD II X4 650 2.80 GHz
RAM: DDR2 4GB RAM (3.85 usable)
Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 6950
Resolution: 1024x768
I'm going to either buy 6950, 6970, or 6990. I'd like to know if the 6950 can run BF3 on max, and if not what card can 70 or 90
